Ive never done it before in a lightning but i dont see why you shouldnt be able to do it in a few hours. Pull the seats, door sills, lower center console trim, old carpet and install new one. Not sure if you gotta pull the lower portion of the seat belt. No biggie if you do i believe its a torques head bolt that holds the seats and belt assembly.

I recently got a black carpet for my L - with floormats - and had them delivered for under $200.. Try here:

http://www.stockinteriors.com/

This is the second carpet I ordered from them. The other was for a 4-door vehicle, and the complete install only took me about 2 1/2 hours. You might have to call them, though - they don't list black carpet for our trucks, but they DO have it.

Hope this helps.

I would love to have the black carpets in mine, maybe it's time to do a few non motor mods. Somehow I think they're a little less money

I saw some Black Buckets on display at Pep Boys once than I truly fell in love with, they were very reasonable in pricing and looked hot. Maybe I'll finally get around to installing a set with new rugs this year ???

Good luck

Do you happen to have the "item #'s" for the mats and carpet that you ordered?

there was another post here a few months ago and some gave advice and said to leave the rug out in the sun for a little while and it will make it soft and easy to work with during the install.

And yes, you will need to unpack the carpet and let it set out in warm temps for a while (I let mine sit out for a couple of days) to let the wrinkles and creases work their way out before install. Warming it up makes it easier to work with.

Can this be installed over the factory carptet to give it a more full thick feeling and appearance? Or is the Mass Back option worth the extra cash? Or should I go the cheapest way possible because I won't notice anything different besides the color anyways?

Personally, I wouldn't try to install it over the existing carpet. Fitment (it would seem) would become an issue, amongst other things. If you're getting new carpet, just replace the old one. As far as Mass Back goes, I don't know - it wasn't offered the last time I ordered from them...sounds pretty good, though - give it a try and tell us of your results!
