Its here
Hey Wes. Yeah I have been wondering if the guys at the dealership were going to take it for a spin before I get it. I hope not cause that wouldn't be right. I've also been wondering how many miles should be on it when I get it. This will be the first new car/truck for me, so I don't know...

Hi Pritch,
I would just discuss the issue with your salesman. Those guys do NOT want to lose a sale on a vehicle like this where the dealership is making a LOT of $$ if you're paying MSRP like most people.
I was not rude to my salesman. He knew I was a "Ford guy" who liked SVT and performance vehicles and he even remarked at how pristine my 3 yr old Cobra was. He asked me if I was "trading in my '98 Cobra" when I first me him. ;-) We both discussed the delivery process...he didn't mind at all. I said I wanted as little done as possible during make-ready. Basically wash it and remove the plastic. He promised me that I would get a call as soon as it was delivered and that they'd get it up and out of the way...they had it on the showroom floor for a couple of hours after make-ready, and I didn't mind that b/c its such a neat vehicle for the dealership to "show off". He called me as soon as make-ready was done and pleaded for me to come get it before someone gawking at it in the showroom scratched it inadvertently. :-P My salesman really bent over backwards for me. But, I also made it clear in a nice way that if the vehicle wasn't perfect, I wouldn't take possession either. I crawled underneath it, opened the hood, looked in the fenderwells, got in the bed and looked around. I'm just ****, I guess.
But, he was rewarded. I sent a good friend to him and he sold him a 2000 model L that will be arriving shortly. Easy money for the salesman and the dealership.
