meth/alky users in here plz

I am trying to collect as much info as I can on any of the meth/alky injection stuff as I can. I want to make sure its the right choice for me. I want to know things like hw much power or lower ETs have you seen, has it eatin away at your s/c, killed your ic, etc. I would run alky in mine just to be on the safe side. anyone think there would be a problem from running a alky/water mix.

Anything else I should know? I would be running it with a ported easton.

Only thing that i know is that it helps prevent detonation thus allowing you to run more timming creating more power through timming. Also allows you to run higher boost on less octane gas. If i remember correct i did hear a few people saying it ate the coating on the rotor packs which can cause a clogged intercooler so if i was you i would have the rotors stripped when you get the blower ported. The uncoated rotors doesnt effect power. A member here named Camcob has some good knowledge of this setup, hopefully he will chime in.

Alky Injection

I have had a Snow Perfprmance kit on for one year. I use straight denatured alky instead of methanol and water. Picked up about 25-30 hp. Pretty much lets you run a race tune on 91 octane gas. I use the washer tank storage unit and run it into the throttle body just ahead of the blade.

I believe the straight denatured alky lasts much longer in the tank without turning to water. The methanol/water just smelled like straight water after it was in the tank for a few weeks. We sell denatured where I work, and I just grab one off the shelf when I need some. I still use it to clean the windshield, works great. It has not hurt the paint and I do not think that it will. I spill it everywhere when filling the tank, because I am too lazy to grab a funnel.

I run 16 pounds of boost on a stock motor with a K/B blower and make around 460 hp and 545 torque on Ca. 91 octane.

It is a great kit and would recomend it anytime.

Mine was a Christmas gift from my wife last year.

Running alchy will not harm your sc rotors. Some think that it will cause the teflon to flake off, but many have had the teflon flake off anyway. Teflon is resistant to alcohol according to DuPont and is used on the caps that often hold alcohol to ensure a tight seal.

There are a lot of benefits to running alchy injection on a supercharged engine. It will allow you run more timing and/or more boost without getting detonation. That's where the biggest gain of power will come from - adjusting your tune. There is some power to be had from the cooling/intercooling effect.
