Some claim to have black grilles... in a previous thread, i think it was mentioned that ford says the grilles are supposed to be black...

doesn't matter, i'm having the whole truck blacked out.

 

I see that in dash cd, but didn't see the cd changer behind the seat?
The last time I checked, ford still does not have a cd only in-dash that will work with cd changer.

 

I want the over head console...

I bet it can be added...

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

 

I bet that's one of a few 2000 Lightnings with a factory soft tonneau cover. I thought they weren't going to come out with it this year? I read somewhere else on this forum that they tend to blow off at around 120 mph. Thats just a rumor though.

I love the overhead console! The badge on the air box seems to be the same also.I thought they were changing them?So in every way other than the tail lights it is a better truck.This look to me like a Ford truck with its Mich. plate and all.

I for one know that the tonneau does not come off with the speedo pegged. My first truck had one, the problem was the rear corners stayed curled up and looked crappy. Ford gave me another which fits perfectly and also stays on with it pegged. I think this is a quality item and worth the cost.
My dealer gouged me on it but still it is better than some I`ve seen. My old tonneau on the 93 Lightning would bow down the two rear aluminum supports above 80 mph.
This one has round bows verses flat on the old one. It seals water tight and is a breeze to remove or roll up and gather just behind the cab with the factory straps. Nice
that's my opinion....

Also the grill on My red one was GREY and the black one is more black than grey. Could be darker.

Hmmm......when I checked on the weekend and that was at the actual plant, of all the trucks that I saw, they had a cassette. Strange....The indash CD thing is nice, though!

I noticed that about the corners of my tonneau cover, however, I am just glad to own a Lightning. Haven't had the truck over 100, yet. I thought it was a rumor about it blowing off. Why dont't the 2000 Lightnings come with it? I noticed the one reviewed by mustangworld had it, but it seems that no one could order a 2000 without delay. Thanks for the input though.

 

Did you see the specs that MW had on the Lightning??? 1/4 @ 14.6

I think that lightning is a EXACT duplicate of what the lightning was "supposed " to be for 2000. After problems with the tonneau and in dash cd, they probally went for the easy way out.

 

What's a console for? Is that where you put your carry-on luggage?
