Some Nitrous basics relating to our trucks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, or if I use the wrong terminology. Most of the nitrous kits for our trucks are nozzle kits that mount BEFORE the blower, right? A "direct port" kit is a kit that mounts the fuel injector and nitrous nozzle together, right? Has anyone run this type of set up on our trucks? Could it be done, or does the manifold not allow it? I know direct port set ups generally produce more power, and was wondering if we can utilize this set up.

A guy here in houston ran the NOS "nozzle" kit on a 250 progressive shot. It was a stock motor so it didnt last long but i damn sure hit hard.

Doug, I have the only kit that Holley manufactured for the Lightning.
The brazed fitting for the EGR turned out to be too expensive a piece
and would drive the price up to where they (Holley) thought the market
price would be a tad higher than the competition.

So the one I have and the one on the development desk at Holley are all there
are. It ROCKS, BTW ... IIRC, I Dyno'ed 461 HP on a TOTALLY stock motor
using the setup. (Just the Electric fan!)

PS... I got pictures somewhere ...

How about a plate between the blower and lower manifold.

Or better yet.

A direct port in each runner of the lower manifold to the cylinder. hmmm..

That would take a lot of hours of flow testing to makesure each cylinder is getting the same. You would definitely need a total of at least 4 solenoids. 2 for the passenger and 2 for the drivers side.

It's basically the same setup as the Holley kit for the Terminator.

It works very well ...

Egr

I would think that that EGR system would be ****ty. I mean your injecting the fuel and nitrous into the side of the intake stream. I bet it's no where near as effecient as they would hope.

Then you have the fuel nozze running through a hot *** plate connected to the EGR. That's can't be good.

I think this system was result in alot of burn plugs and lean conditions.

Just my opinion. But I don't know much about Nos setups.
