That depends on which engine you want to compare the lightning to. It is a 5.4L ening, so I'll Assume you will want to compare it to a 5.4 non-lightning motor.

Here goes.

F150 XLT
5.4L motor, Naturally aspirated, 260 hp, 300(?) ft/lb torque, 15" wheels, 5 speed tranny, cloth interior, mid - high (?)16 sec. 1/4 mile, bed load rating 1500-2000 lbs, tow rating up to 7000.

SVTF150 Lightning
5.4L Supercharged, Intercooled motor, with auxilliary engine oil and transmission fluid coolers, transmission from superduty deisel stup, torqueconverter from evne heavierduty tranny, f250 rearend, tuned suspension for enhanced handling. 800lb bed load rating, 5000lb tow rating. 4x2. 18 inch aluminum alloy wheels, z rated, low profile tires. only 4000 made each year.

You really ought to do a general search on it.

Oh yeah, high 13 seconds are usually what these 4700 lb beasts do in the quarter, stock!

I hope the above info is accurate, hope it helps, sorry forgot the SVTF150 comes with psuede interior with leather texture accents.

Cool

About 2 seconds in the quarter along with interior upgrades, suspension upgrade, and external aerodynamic changes. See attached link for greater detail.

Quite a bit is different, the suspension/shocks/brakes/tranny/pistons/wheels/computer/interior/exhaust/intercooler-blower assy. ford has a 16pg brochure on the differences

The closest comparison is really there is no comparison. It is not just the "parts" ford uses .It is more important how the parts all work together

Well, here's what I'm thinking--so you all know why I'm asking. I love what the Lightning offers, but since I use my SC Lariat so much whenever I go out with the family, the SC (back seat) is a major requirement for my 4-yr old daughter. The Lightning doesn't offer a SC version, so I'd have to get the Harley F150 (which isn't so bad I guess!).

SO--I'd like to try to achieve as best I can what the Lightning offers, with what I've got, in my 2000 4.6L SC Lariat. Any suggestions would help!

So far I'm thinking:

- Supercharger (Eaton or Kenne Bell?)
- 18" SVT Lightning wheels (with chrome wheels)
- Goodyear Eagles to fit (F1-GS, 295/45ZR 18's??)

Is that pretty much all I can do to come close to obtaining a "F-150 Lariat Lightning SC" ?

Thanks for your help,
Duke

Has anyone seen this brochure? Where would I get one?

Nathan, I'd love to see it too, although the http://www.mustangworld.com/trucks/0...00svtlight.htm pages tell quite a bit.

I would definatly go with a blower that sits on the induction system.I have not seen vortech type have the same positive affect as a eaton or whipple like ours.Sounds like you will have one nice supercab!

Lightningquick, can you recommend a particular brand/model? I hope to end up with a speedy little SC when I'm done. Thanks!

If you need an extended cab, but would like something that approaches the looks and performance of the Lightning, you should take a look at the Steeda F150 packages. There's a review in this month's Motor Trend.

Moonshine, I just looked at MotorTrend.com and saw that their 2000 Truck of the Year was the Toyota Tundra. That's sad... it's just a poor F-150 copy. Oh well, I digress.

I'll have to check out that issue, because I couldn't find anything online. Are you talking about the February or March issue of Motor Trend magazine? I'd like to check out the Steeda F150 packages -- I'm looking to match the performance of the Lightning, not the looks.

Thanks again for your help!

I did find this at the steeda.com website:

Sounds like they have a lot of add-ons to check out. Thanks!
