Silicone/intercooler

From all the searching I've done no one has mensioned the effect of brake cleaner on the silicone between the intercooler and lower manifold. when I took out my intercooler, to clean it, there was some type of silicone used as a sealant. I'd assume it is solvent resistant? Or did I get a factory reject?

There was a sealant used on the 2001 and up intercoolers and the 99-00 service intercooolers. It is solvent resistant.

that solvent wo't be effected by brake cleaner.

I always remove the gasket before I clean it. (all 3 times)
