I thought I had a coil pack going bad...after I melted a few plugs because the truck was breaking down pretty bad at wot. I found a dead cylinder...not good. A melted ground strap off of the spark plug had gotten hung inbetween the valve seat and valve hence a hole burned in my valve.
I'd take it easy on it until you find the issue. I burned five plugs running lean and damaged 10 valves.

Wellllll; in the end I could bring it up to 15#'s of boost and all was good. Over that it would break up and run ****ttty. A/F has been doing fine.

After talking to a bunch of people tonight I think I'm gonna look at it as maybe bad gas and try cleaning the tank and going with fresh.

On the fuel. I had plenty of FP. The pumps are going into (2) -6an lines out the top of the tank into a big aftermarket filter. SO, I eleminated that issue of the "y" fitting and hose problems.

Casey,
You may have some trouble igniting the mix at 19 lb after you get moving and have come nice cool dense air flowing to the intake.

You may want to decrease your plug gap, I use a boost a spark to avoid the problem.

I had IT22's down to .028~.030

I've had to think about it a lot, and it ran great 2 days before in fairly similar weather. Then I pulled it out and drove it, but didn't get on it because it was down to less than 1/4 tank. Filled UP with gas to the top and after that got on it and thats when all hell started happening. So, soon as I get a chance I am draining the tank.

Casey could be the maf or still a coil pack. They react diff to diff loads. WIth only 10lbs of boost the load is smaller. Just a theory. I will call my uncle at astro tomorrow and see if the can test the coil packs for you if you birng them to them. If you want hollar.

I think I'm going to try pulleying down to about 8~10#'s of boost and seeing if it still does it. Then work from there.
Have you tried a injector? I saw the pressure was fine on my pumps and it ended up being an injector. (PLUG CAME UNDONE)

I am having the exact issue, when it hits 4500 RPMS it hits a brick wall. Keep us updated. It also only started with the cold weather.

If it runs fine at lower boost I'm gonna say you need to close the gap down some more.

Well; I got a big aftermarket Mallory fuel filter, but it's possible. I have a replacement and a spare ordered.

Plan is to change all the fuel and filter and fresh low gapped plugs. See if anything gets better with that.

Lemme guess; because I don't live in Mobile, it's not red, I tune it myself, I havn't been graced by the nitrous gods, or I don't swing from certain LS1 owners nuts.

Sorry everybody; local thing going on. Back to the original topic

Casey, remember to do a bore scope on the cylinders. I found out the hard way about melting a plug. One must always aske them self where the melted material went? My piece of electrode broke free from the top of the piston and wedged it's slef between the piston and the cyl wall. Put a nice key way in the cylinder.

God Bless,

Suavy

At this point I have to hope for the best in that those parts went out the exhaust cleanly. I have not finances or desire to do any motor work right now.
