Our Lightning Heading

I'm a small business owner, and sometimes get obsessed with figures. Did we sell more today than yesterday; more this month than last month etc.

I've been watching the number of postings on our heading, and I believe I can say it is the fastest growing one on the whole board. We are at 249, this makes 250, and we are gaining quickly on the really big ones. Also, this seems to be the cleanest and most coherent heading I visit on this board. No insults, no BS, just good clean exchanges about our interests in a fairly rare and fun vehicle. Also of interest are the postings by owners of other variants of Ford and non-Ford vehicles. On most boards, they would be insulted to the point of leaving.

Another point worth watching, and that is the growth in the membership of the F-150 online family in general. Looks like more than 20 new members a day.

Way to go!!

Bill,

You just about nailed it all "dead center."

It wasn't too long ago some of us were very defensive about non-Ford owners posting here with good reason and for reasons I will not get into. They have since gone away I hope but yes, we do get good input from a couple of Chevy guys and I suppose some Dodge guys are here too and that's fine.

We are all here for the same reasons whatever we drive, and yes, I needle them too with my signature but they don't take anything personally.

And being a non-Lightning owner, I frequent this area as much as any 'cause I'M JEALOUS!!

Hey Dunbarton:

Unless I misread your signature line, you own an original Lightning, which was probably a greater leap of faith than those of us who have a 99.5.

As I see you have a '99 non'Lightning, I guess it will be a while before you get the current generation. On the other hand, you can let the rest of us take care of all of the teething problems and pick one up in a few years that is all sorted out.

Bill,

Nope, never owned a Lightning or any Ford product until this one. Signature was before the '99 Lightnings came out so I guess I outta change it to avoid confusion ........

Over 11,000 post now,
Every lightning owner in the country must be on here.
I've only ever seen 2.
How many lightnings were produced anyway?
How many of 1000 F150s are Lightnings?

Agreed, this is the most civil board I am familiar with. A whole bunch of nice people as far as I can tell. I thought I would get royally flamed when I let it be know I drove a rice burner, but no flak at all. As far as the numbers go, maybe they only made 4000 in '99, but my build number is 9403, so they must be making more than 5000 this year.

btw, is anybody else watching the AC races? Yesterday's was damned exciting, but tonight's is something else. Not over yet, and I'm jumpin' out of my chair.

Alpha, the build numbers restart every year - They won't be able to give you your build number until after the truck is built.

There will be 4750 L's built in '00.
