My life and auto policy cost combined is cheaper than when I had auto only.
From a claims standpoint, I have never had a bad interaction with them. Going through a claims process with a fender bender is one thing, but if you get seriously injured, some of these fly-by-night operations suck big time.

Glad you guys like your State Farm so much!! LOL I am an agent, with a company other than state farm. We are a nationwide company. And have been around since the early 1900's.
Now for every person that thinks Their insurance company is the greatest..there are 10 people that will argue the opposite. Had many State Farm clients walk in my office screaming bloody murder about them. And I am sure have had many of my former ones do the same about mine in a state farm office!
I think it comes down to the insured. Most insurance companies will be reasonable when it comes to paying a claim, just the thing that determines if they are reasonable or not is the person they are paying the claim to!! If the insured is wanting something out of nothing, the Ins co is gonna seem horrid.
Oh and the old why is this less to insure when it costs twice as much to buy? Stats..The Taurus is less to buy and truely less to pay out on in the event of a total loss. But the Majority of claims are not total loss's but fender benders, hail or wind, deer, sizeable losses that have to be fixed. Its those numbers and cost to repair that drive the less to buy cars up. If a Taurus takes a hit in the right rear fender, it may be more likely to cause a spider effect and you have to fix more stuff than a F-150 taking the same hit. Therefore its more to fix.
They may be more apt to be in an accident due to blind spots, they may be more to apt to be stolen i.e. Toyota Camry.
Just trying to help the understanding and dont think I was baggin State Farm, I was using them as an example..could of used anyone. But one nice thing about them and mine is you get an AGENT! Someone to go to bat for you if it would seem your getting hosed so to speak. You can have all the cust service reps you want..but they truley don't care...your a number to them, not a person..Sob sob hope your not crying now!! LOL
