Lightning S/C question

Hello guys. This is my first post here. I am a Chevy man, but I don't hate on Fords so don't hate on me.

I am self-employed in the salvage business. I received a call last week from a guy who wants to sell me a 'Lightning blower' relatively cheap (<$100) and I figured I may be able to make some money on it. If nothing else, it will look good hanging on my wall. Anyway, I want to make sure I know that this actually is a lightning blower. I don't want to buy something I can't get rid of. Is there a tag or casting number on these things that I can use to identify it? I would appreciate any help.

Paul

WELCOME Chevy

Just kidding Bro

The STOCK Lightning SC is a Eaton M-112
There are two diff bolt patterns, the first is the early years and will only fit the 99-00. The other will fit all years from 01 - 04

If your getting the COMPLETE SC with the Rotors, you'll prob triple your money if you sell it, (def double it). They dont go for too much but a lot look for a SC to send out for porting so they dont have to lay the truck up. $300.00 is prob an average price on E-Bay for it, maybe even cheaper

Here's some on there now (with Pic's)

BTW,
They WILL NOT let you sell it, OR PUSH IT here in the forums SO WATCH OUT.
We do have a Classified section and your free to post and see it there

Welcome, what does the camaro run?

Anyway's as rob said it is an Eaton M112. It should be a top entry supercharger, by this I mean, you bold the upper intake plenum on the top, and not the rear. Some say SVT (I believe 01-04) on the casing beside the snout, and some say EATON (99-00).

Here are some links to some pictures
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...t=ported+eaton

This is a ported eaton, so the second/smaller hole, on the bottom of the blower, will probably not be their.

Here is another picture, of a blower that was polished.

This should give you a general idea of what to look for, and what they look like.

Thanks a lot guys.

03 WhiteLightnin,
My camaro has only been to the strip once. My brother drove it. It spun about 30' out of the whole and he missed 3rd gear so I really have no Idea what it will run. That run it did a 13.65 with a 2.4 60' time missing third gear.

Are you sure you have the years right? This one on Ebay says SVT on it and the seller said it's a 1999 model: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...QQcmdZViewItem See 'questions from other members' about halfway down the page.

what 03WHITELIGHTNIN says is correct about the snout. The one on ebay looks like an 01-04 blower because the "SVT" on the snout and the bolt pattern is symetrical. I'm pretty sure its the 99-00 bolt pattern that is not symetrical.

It always makes you feel comfortable when the person selling doesn't know what they are selling.

Just looked under the hood of my truck, which is an 03, and it said SVT. The guy on ebay might have a newer snout on a 99-00 blower, or it is just a 01-04 blower. Looks like the camaro has a 12 in her if you can get it out of the hole.
