Question Startup Issue

On a cold startup, my engine will stall and have to be restarted as soon as I press on the gas. The a/f gauge drops off the lean side of the chart. Ford says the fuel is holding pressure but I'm not going to pay them $500 to clean the MAF/valves. I was told it could be a loose hose off one of the fuel pumps but they were all on tight. I've ordered another MAf sensor to see if mine is contaminated (I've already tried to clean it). I am changing the plugs soon because I'm upgrading lower pulleys. If none of this works, what do you guys suggest next? TPS, IACV? Any help here is appreciated.

mines starts, runs for about a minute and then sounds like it's ready to stall, coughing and sputtering. A quick tap of the gas, cleans it out and it runs fine. My IAC, MAF, I/C upper intake, lower intake is spotless (regular maintence and I cleaned all of it a few weeks ago)

If it's an idle issue, you may want to clean the IAC (passenger side of intake) 2 bolts, few vacuum hoses, uses brake cleaner and a screwdriver.
Fill it with cleaner, use a small screwdriver to move the valve back and forth and see if it is sticking. SHould take 10 minutes from opening the hood to closing it.

I do have an aftermarket boost gauge. It vacuums around 20 psi give or take a couple. I do not believe there are any leaks. I just can't think of any other problems it could be other than what I've listed. The weird thing is, it goes away after a minute or so and drives like normal. I'll start it after at being at work all day and it spits and sputters when I push the gas again. It's totally annoying and I'm hoping it doesn't lead to other problems. Also, I have a Predator.

Hey menace, do you know of where I can find any pics, if any, of how to properly clean the IACV? Have you fixed your problem? Mine's getting worse and I need to fix this soon.

No matter what DO THIS FIRST
They are know to act up and miles on the vehicle MEAN NOTHING
Mine messed up with only a few thousand miles on it, cleaned it and it's been trouble free for years since. Recently my Old Mans Ford something was stalling and spuddering and idling all wacky so I tried it again
PROBELM SOLVED AGAIN.

It takes all of 5 minutes start to finish...

I filled it up with Alcohol, and let it soak. Then I used cue tips and got it spotless inside. I ended up with a sink full of yick and many dirty cue tips when I was done.

Put it back together and your done
