My Lightning is my daily driver, although it isn't supposed to be. When we got it, my wife didn't want me putting a lot of miles on it since it was a new, limited edition, beautiful, unbelievable truck.

Anyway, she made me get a daily driver car. After her beating me up and twisting my arm, we found a beautiful, cherry condition, red, 1990 5.0 LX Convertible with 31k original miles. I drove it pretty steady for about 2-3 weeks, got my superchip for the L, and I have driven it about 4 times since then (August time frame). The stang is just too damn slow.

Now I am convincing her that I need a 9lb SVO blower, new heads, new wheels, new tires, new brakes, new etc. for the mustang to make it more fun. I think it might work.

Anyway, the Lightning gets about 10-12 miles per gallon driving to work and in town each day (short, stop and go, 30-45 mph stints (at full throttle). I figured it out to about $15 a mile for gas costs. Oh well, only money. The truck is paid for, so I can afford the gas.

Daily Driver, but my 4 mile drive seems to take about TEN! Have to chase down at least one or two possible races, but they usually don't pan out.

 

Daily driver, even in the rain/snow (we call it snush). It will only see this one winter, then I will get a 3rd vehicle for commuting.
