Ill agree it really sucks it had to happen like that rob. Well hopefully you'll get it sorted out, and have your 10s like you wanted. Interested to see what the underlying cause is, i dont think your truck has ever been right since it got built. I wonder what caused the problems?

Rob, I'm not a frequent poster, but I've been following your saga for a year now. Hate to hear about your disaster, and I hope things get fixed real quick.

I have a question, though, after reading your top post. The way I read it, you have been experiencing a lean condition both on and off the dyno, and melting plugs left and right due to running lean. If I'm wrong, I apologize. But if that's the case, why did you feel it was ok to bring your truck to the track and race it? Seems like you were setting yourself up for an engine failure.

Again, if I read things wrong, my bad. That's just how your post reads, and I would like some clarification. Thanks!

Since I can already see this thread turning ugly, let me make an official statement on the situation, so it hopefully doesn't go in that direction.

While I am naturally not thrilled with the direction Rob has taken, I am also not "mad" at him or anything for doing it.

Rob came to me with a plan in his mind, and a certain amount of resources to do it with. I did everything in my power to try to meet that plan, working with what we had. While there were weak areas to his setup, we tried our best to optimize it. Rob had several issues with mechanical parts that caused lots of problems, and we eventually got that fixed. In the end, Rob's truck was running great, on the street, and on the dyno. His truck was dyno tuned both on and off spray. Why he had problems at JDM day like he did, I will never know, because I won't be seeing the truck again.

Rob does not have a lot of money to put into this, as most people know. I am not in a financial position to give Rob free stuff, or to float him on parts and let him pay me off. I would if I could, but I can't. I have saved Rob tons of $$ on labor and tuning, because that's what I could do for him. JDM is in a better position to help Rob in this situation, and Rob is taking advantage of that. I can't really blame him.

So morally I am not happy with the whole situation, but in the end, it's what's best for Rob and that's what matters. I wish Rob lots of luck.

Rich,

You need to relax. I am very confident JDM will find out what's wrong and be upfront on what they found. We all know about your dealings with JDM. Let it go, it's done, theirs no need to take these small jabs at them like "not sure if JDM will give straight answers." In the past they have been through a lot of growing pains and I saw it first hand, everyone makes mistakes along the way especially since they grew so fast and were not ready for the demand. Bottom line is, I am 110% confident that they will do Rob's truck perfect and I'm sure JDM is sorry for the dealings that you two have had and I'm sure if you gave them a chance in the future they will do you just as well as they have done for so many out their.

Justin

When my engine threw a rod, due to my own stupidity and not knowing any better at the time, JDM hooked me up with a long block and when I finally got up to NJ to get Jim to tune it, I haven't had any problems since and it's a helluva lot of fun to drive, Thanks to Jim and everyone else at JDM.

well said Sal. I'm really curious to what caused him to tear up so many plugs. Stock heads just too much of a bottle neck for the boost he was running?

Wink Rob

Welcome to the Club Bro!!!

I'm sure you will finally be where you wanted to be with the truck without all this hassle and aggrivation. I'm sure you have heard it over and over in your head but , I think you should have gone this way to begin with.

I'm sure the problems Rob has had isn't Sal's fault. He did what Rob wanted. They were Rob's Ideas. If Sal fealt that they were ****ty ideas and they wouldn't have worked, I would hope Sal would have advised him against them.

Team JDM. As much as you guys hate it, the club continues to grow.

We'll be hearing some serious Woo Hoo's now. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Peace.

This is what I am talking about. But an opinion is just that. No money expecting something for nothing I think we are talking about morals. Now take some

You know Justin... your right. I should let it go. There are just some battles not worth fighting. Right is right and wrong is wrong.

I know who stands on the side of truth. And who does'nt. One day we'll all stand before God. And at that time the quality of our products won't matter one bit. Our integrity and actions will.

I reckon I need to make some changes in my attitude about them? Just be sure it won't involve my wallet! (again)

I'd rather have then maybe I'd understand what you're saying. If you're saying Rob is jumping from shop to shop getting all the freebies he can then I'd agree there is a moral issue.

I agree...

Nobody is knocking Sal at all.. We all know his skill and he has proven himself 10x over. Sometimes the simpliest problems are found with another set of eyes!

Sorry to hear the news Rob...
Let's hope the wallet recovers from the damage soon.
The ego and the engine are easy to fix.

no

I'm guessing the outcome is this.

The truck broke down a couple miles from Jim , so it's there.

Jim obviously has a proven engine program right now. Not that Sal can't build a motor, but i'm sure Rob was pleased to see the results on Gators truck.

Like Sal said, he doesn't have the finances to have Rob pay as you go, so i'm thinking Maybe Jim extended to Rob a pay as you go kinda plan. That is unheard of now a days so if that's the case, hat's off to Jim once again for taking care of another pillar of the Lightning community!!!
