Ported 6lb Lower Guys come in

So i finally got the 6lb'er on. What a difference from the 4lb, i can pretty much blow the drag radials right off pretty easily now. Anyhow my question is, what are you guys running for timing? My tuner has me at like 11 or 12 max, and i think it was for safety purposes heading into winter? I have full exhaust etc, just curious to what you guys run. How about shift points? I hope to do some low 12's. I went 12.52 on the 4lb. Since then i have added an e-fan, ram air, and the 6lb. Hoping for some better 60's (1.7's) and some 12.2's, during the SSOTN event. I think i located a ticket.

I just did the same thing, and I noticed the exact thing with the drag radials. I'm running 16 degrees on the street with 93 octane, and 20 degrees race tune with 100 octane. I am running LT's with the stock cat back. I may need to lower my shift points, but right now the truck is shifting at 5450. I picked up a tenth on my 60's, and 2 tenths in the 1/8th no 1/4 mile for me.

At WOT it stays at 17 but slowly climbs and will hit 19 right at the shift. At 95 MPH I had a detonation and added race gas and was fine. I ran a 12.61 last Wednesday in full street rim with a hard bed cover. I was using slicks. The weather was by far better that wahat I usually run in and i dropped .4 off my hot summer runs.

I think it was bad gas. I have been running a safe af 11.5 at the max. New fuel filter, I change it everyother oil change. If it gets really cool I am going to drop to the 4# this winter. I have a wideband and try to watch the AF when I dog it.
Then again if it goes I can get it built over winter.

Ok maybe I dont have a 6lb lower, but I do have a 10-1/4" Lower
and a 2.7 upper, can you say "GOT BOOST"
On my ported Eaton I run 16 degrees of timing, same on the Mag.
AF on both is @ 11.8, and thats set up on 93 octane fuel
On the old stock block I ran a 4 lower + 2 upper + ported Eaton plus 18-21 degrees of timing, but we had Ultra 94 then, and no longer do

I use to shift at insane RPMS, 5700 - 6K to be exact , but ever since the new motor we have it set to shift @ 5500 RPM MAX
And for the record I dont think my stock block had one more pass on it,
my bearings were shot, my valve guides were shot, and it was seconds from spinning a bearing and throwing a Rod

14-16 is totally safe if you have good 93 octane to run, it's all in the AF,
if you want to be safe keep it rich (maybe like low to mid 11's) and keep the shift points stock or dam close to it
