Yes, just when I think things are going good with my truck, it all goes bad. Was going to be a nice day here in CT so I decided to pull the dusty Lightning out of the garage. Figured I would drive it to work and get it a wash and clean the interior.
Well some clown in a Civic decides he should ruin my hopes and dreams of going to Cecil in 2 weeks and running a number.
Traffic tightens up and I am forced to stop rather quickly, I stop in time before hitting the BMW in front of me, but now my thoughts go to the person that was driving rather quickly behind me. BOOM!!! I get hit so hard my foot gets knocked off the brake pedal and I roll into the BMW. [Frown]
Check and make sure everyone is ok first. Everyone is, so I suggest we pull off up ahead. We do and I survey the damage. Rear bumper and is junk and the hitch looks a little messed up. Polica come, yada-yada-yada. Kid that kits me gets a ticket. I continue with my drive to work thinking I better order a new bumper as soon as I get there so my truck is presentable for Cecil.
Well I get there and drop the tailgate to make sure there is no damage there.
I look at the bottom of the bed which is now bowed up quite a bit. Yes you guessed it! We must have some frame damage!!! WooHoo! [Mad]
Looks like my plans are now ruined.

That really sucks man.....glad you guys were OK.
People here drive way too fast and tailgate something fierce.

Maybe you can get it fixed up by the time Cecil comes around....

 

I feel your pain. My truck was in the street by my girlfriends house. And some POS honda with the go-kart exhaust smashed right into the left front bumper. There were 15 other cars on the street and he had to pick the most expensive one to hit. I guess its hard to see a bright red truck right in front of you. he payed cash(problable drug money) but nonetheless i got it fixed. It wasn't as bad as yours seems to be but i wish you the best of luck. if your like me and born with S*hit luck there isn't much you can do.

Is your insurance company going to blame you for hitting the BMW??? Thats b*ll**** if they are... no sure what the rules/regs are in CT.... Happened to my old truck... I feel your pain! Sucks man..

 

The BMW only had a couple scuffs in the back. I gave the kid my number and told him to call me if he wants to do anything about it. I did not get a ticker, so I honestly don't know. It is pretty lame since I got slammed from behind and that is the only reason why I touched him. With my luck I will probably get sued by him. -Mat-

 

When I was in the middle of a multi-vehicle accident, the person that initiated the contact and got the ticket was on the hook for everyone's repair bills.

Here in NY you can destroy a hundred vehicles and no one gets a ticket ???
(not unless they dont have a Lic or Ins) I guess it's ok to smash into people here ???

sucks that that had to happen though, seriously. I hate jackass drivers like that

 

Put it on the lift at my shop to take a peek. The inside of the bed floor is bent up right behind the wheel wells. The frame is bent at the front of the hitch. The bottom of the bed is touching the cab and I can pretty much stick my hand between the cab and bed by the rear window.
Can these frames be pulled or am I looking at a pretty big repair here>??? I don't think I am anywhere near a total loss here but to be honest with you that isn't sounding all too bad right now. -Mat-

 

if it makes you feel any better SVT F15O i could run over what is left of his civic and crush it for you, here is a pic of the civic that pulled out in front of me the other day, hope it makes you feel better to see a crushed stupid civic driver
