Unhappy Get with the program, Ford and SVT!

Why won't Ford build an SVT Supercab? I'm in the market for a new truck, I've already determined that it will be a 2wd, but it absolutely must be a supercab - the regular cab is just too small for a family vehicle.

IMHO, this is a huge mistake; I'm sure I'm not the only person that has had to cross the Lightning off the shopping list because it only comes in a regular cab. C'mon FoMoCo, get with the program!

IMHO, its a sport truck not a family truck. And if they wanted to sell more they could just make more of the style they have now. Selling them is not a problem, keeping them special is the key point here. Just my 2 cents!!!!

That was also the opinion of Ford I remember reading. The enthusiast wants the lightest truck available, and this truck is aimed at the enthusiast, not the guy wanting to haul around his wife, kids, and dog. I guess if they ever have a problem selling them - which the never will - they will entertain other options.

What is this guy b****ing about. This isn't a "Grocery Getter"(not that I haven't picked up a six-pack or two).
There's no back seat in a Viper either. Why don't you call Dodge and b**** about that...Mike.

To be fair, if you want a Supercab performance truck, try on a Rousch. They are very lightning-esque and you can get them in family size.

Yep, I bought a family car, and the Lightning too. Something I read said that one reason they didn't make a supercab was more than just acceleration, it was also for handling. SVT likes to build balanced vehicles that have both good performance and handling. They say that the heavier, longer wheel base Supercab would negatively effect both.

I don't care about a SuperCab.
I would have got a Lightning if a longbed and factory ladder rack were available.

...but Noooo!

MikeS-
As you can see the Lightning was not produced to be a "family" truck. But don't cry as you can go order the Harley Davidson Supercab. It looks good, which I think is what you are really wanting anyway.

Question

Supercab = Family truck? Sorry unless something has 4 real doors, it's not a family truck in my book. Mike_S don't think a supercab lightning is out of the question. I think SuperFord magazine (or some ford magazine) has some spy shots of supercabs with lightning wheels and possibly lightning power, and I think one was yellow. Spy shots taken at Ford proving grounds.
