Lighting....Good first truck????
I will be turning 17 in a few months and want to know if a Lighting is a way to go. My dad said he will buy it but I have about 11 thousand to spend on it. I was thinking of getting a black 95 and getting a engine built for me by my brother's friend. Would this be the way to got or should i keep a stock engine and get a supercharger??? give me some ideas caus ei can use them. Oh, and my brother works at LaRocca's perfromance and one of his bosses has a white lighting which puts out a LOT of hp. Can't drive it on the street though.

Do you live by Larocca`s? I have been dealing with Jim and his brother in law on and off for quite a few years. That would the right way to go, they know their stuff.......good luck kid

Sure it is. We all wreck our first vechicle ,so why not ride in syle until you wrap it around a pole
Im not being wise im only joking. But we all know that are first vechicle is usually involved in a little head on now and then. Mine i just rolled over at 60mph into a tree down a ditch.Remember always duck down and hold on tight when you roll over a 1984 camaro W/T-TOPS!!!!!!!!I LOVED THAT CAR TOO.YES buy a lightning just becareful we all do stupid things when we are young. I should be dead right now with some of the things i did in my cars and trucks. I had twenty cars betwween 16 and tweny one. I SWEAR TO GOD. most of them were pretty nice too. But then there was the 86 escorts when i was betwwen cars.

I think a lightning would make a great first vehicle. Here's why:
1) its a cool truck.
2) its sturdy. If you are going to be bumping into things a truck is the way to go.
3) Its easy to work on. Doing work on little cars with cramped engine bays is no fun for starters.
4) Community. There is great support for the lightning and lots of people willing to provide advice on mods. Normally on much more expensive/exotic cars have such an active following.
5) I was 17 when the '93 lightnings came out. I didnt have the scratch back then but man did I want one.
The drawback:
You'll probably never want to drive a regular truck again.

ok, i'm jealous now! i got the truck i got when i was 17. but my first car was a classic muscle car (which i still have) so i started off on the right foot.
if i would of held off a little longer (and would of known there would be a new lightning) then i could have one too.
