Hey guys... if any of you know where I might be able to get a 5.8L Lightning engine, please let me know. Either out of a wrecked Lightning, or crate is fine by me. Thanks for the help guys.

 

Hell even as an owner of a lightning I would love to find one of these elusive 5.8 l engines, give me 2 in fact!

In my sig, I show a 39 horsepower
chev 427/400TH combo and in a recent thread, I said I was trading my Lightning crate motor for a 360/C6 Combo.
Was too lazy to edit the posts and my sig.
For the record, the guy is looking for a 5.4 litre motor, my Chev is a 390 horse/built. and I am trying to trade for a 460/C6, not a 360/C6.
I can't recall the whole saying, but I think part of it is "To err is divine" or something like that. Or maybe to err is human and to forgive is divine. Never could remember those old Sunday School sayings.

No flame intended but I believe the chap is looking for a previous gen. Lightning motor, which is in fact a 5.8L (351 c.i.). BTW, I like the Webtv!

Well, two major flubs for this week:
Didn't know crate motors were still available for the first gen. Lightnings, strike one.
Sorry F1car, didn't mean to come off as a smart aleck, just funning around. Strike two.
Collin: I can always depend on you to get me straight, thanks for the bailout. WebTv still doesn't function, but I am still trying.

Jason: Sorry to leave you out of this whole mishmash, but I hope you find the engine you are seeking whatever number of litres it has. If you need a Lightning crate motor of the 2000 persuasion, let me know as I have one sitting in the RC Car section of my HobbyTown USA store.

there were some 5.8L lightning engines discovered in a warehouse and offered for sale. when Bill and some others bought lightning engines for 4K, i thought these were the ones, not the 5.4's they actually bought. there was some talk of the 5.8's on NLOC, so check the link above.

Go to the search block enter 351 and then go down to the topic FYI 351 crate motors. Hope this helps. Scott
