I remember you from AOL. If you want to get real fancy you can duct your air in from the fenderwell (you may have do some cutting). Or you can use Sal's pipe or Downs or the Airaid system most of these pipes have some type of coatings (Powdercoating or paint).A ceramic coating would be overkill in that it will cost more and not give you any added benefit.

LISTEN TO THIS. IM GONNA SVE YOU ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY. IF YOU HAVE LISTENED TO EVERYBODY ON THE BOARD THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THAT THE PERFORMANCE FROM THE DOWNS OR SALS INTAKE WORKS REMARKABLY WELL. WHY GO INTO THE BOTHER OF CUTTING AND MAKING THINGS FIT WHEN YOU DONT EVEN KNOW IF IT WILL HELP. Do what we all did and buy a intake for the lousy $129.00 it works and no time and money loss. im just trying to give good advice.sorry for caps.i wrote too much to erase it

If I remember correctly Sal tested temps under the hood while driving and found that it mostly hung around ambient while the truck was moving in the area of the filter.
