Anyone have a solid "How To" on rear gear changes

I wanna swap in a set of 373's but I really want the install to be correct. If it wasn't a daily driver I wouldn't mind but I don't wanna mess around and screw it up because i really dont' have the proper tools to set and adjust the back lash on the gears. Does anyone have a rear solid how to on the gears?? Right down to removing the axles and such???

What is a dealer typically get to do a gear swap??

I gotta have Jim add a little fuel to my tune so I figured I might as well do the gears first so he can adjust for that.

I've done it once before on a 96 cobra...wouldn't do it again probably, to much of a pain in the ***. One of my buddies had his done at a local shop, I wanna say he paid somewhere around $300, gears not included. That's why I tried to do it myself, if it werent for a buddy of mine that was a certified ford mechanic, I probably would have messed it up. If I had to do it again, id probably pay so that way the shop is liable if something f's up.

Gear install

I would suggest having a shop do it. It's not your typical bolt on.

Most of the instructions online are lame. If you want the job done right, you need the proper tools and an experienced installer. Here's the general guidelines:

Yeah I wouldnt mess with it. Especialy if you need it every day. Thats the main reason I am hesitant to start modding my L. I need it to get to work so I can't really take it too far apart, less I risk calling in sick.

My tune was adjusted for the Speedo and I think the Odometer (not certain on the Odometer though)

if you do not have the proper tools it is imposible to do right, even with the proper tools i would recomend you to have someone that you trust that has done it before help you out, good luck

good looks

i gotta drop my girls' car off at ford and i'll talk to them friday and see what i'm looking at.

So the only thing in the tune that needs to be adjusted should be speedo and odometer........

Shifting and stuff should be fine??
