Don't risk it, have it done professionaly. I had LFP Port mine a few years back and it's worth the $299.00 plus it comes with new Ford Gaskets, Eaton Oil, and repacked bearings.

Just do it!
You might not gain as much HP as a prof job. beacuse they have the experience and most likely the templates programmed into a CNC milling machine, but you can get pretty close. I found some pictures of a Steig. job and copied it with my Dremel (do a search, there's lots of info in here). Make sure to tape over the rear bearings before you start. If you strip the rotors at the same time you might get the sound of a "cold bearing" but that is not uncommon if you have it done by a prof. shop. The advantage though is that you can send it back to be fixed, instead of having to figure it out for your self.
If you mess up you can buy a used blower for around $300-$400 and even a used ported for $500-$600, so it's a matter of how much you trust your own abilities. So far I gained 16HP but my MAF is peggin now, so I need an SCT 2400 MAF before I finish the inlet of the blower.
NLOC has had a couple of self-ported blowers up for sale which all have pretty detailed pictures.

Good luck either way you do it!

Did mine myself also. Wasn't too bad. I am a cheapo though. I really don't know how many hp I picked up but it sure doesn't feel like I lost any. Good luck if you do it yourself.

Most people that port their own never seem to know how much hp they pick up While the people that pay for a port..go straight to the dyno for results.

You saved money on the port...at least get it dynoed and post up the new found numbers. Just my 02

the outlet looks a lot cleaner than the one i did, but i spent much, much more time on the inlet side of mine.

From the picture it looks like the 4 vent holes have been closed on either side of the main outlet. Is this standard practice for the Steigemeier/ Apten job? I know that these holes were added to reduce blower whine. what performance gains does closing them off accomplish?

How well does everyone think the jb weld or epoxy or whatever will adhere to the case(chipping breaking). Also What should i do about my peeling rotors.

don't bother filling the holes.

strip the rotors with aircraft stripper or something similar. i left the coating on mine, but it wasn't peeling at all.
