Get this done guy at all cost. I just put out my 2nd house fire because of this faulty switch. Thanks god the people has plywood sealing in their garage and it did not brun into the 2nd floor. 4 if my guys including me drive effected Ford or is that infected we all went back and has a disconnect and zip ite party after. Jan 4 2005 was the 1st fire with a total lose of a 6000sq/ft house thet tried to puyt it out by themselves for 20mins before they dialed 911. The 1st truck was a 2001 F120, the 2nd one 10/07/2005 was a 2002 Expy. SO get this done by Ford before it is TOO late.
Jeff

Deep into this link:
http://www.nhtoc.com/forum/showthre...ll&pagenumber=2,
the poster said to remove the old switch with a 14mm stubby open end.
'Tain't true. I changed mine yesterday morning and what fits is a 9/16" open end that I bent into a right angle to loosen old-timey distributor hold-downs.
The 14mm is a tad too small.
The 7/8" deep socket used to install the new one is correct.

I dunno maybe it's a new issue, I'll try unplugging it to see if it stops !
