Launch Technique
I have seen a hand held airchuck that uses a co2 canister to operate it. I dont know how much air they put out but it would be worth a try. The canisters are cheap, it would be small and you wouldn't need an air compressor. Bike racers use them to change tires so any good bike shop should have them.

Don't know about the rest here but, Milan Dragway in Milan Michigan has an airhose setup for you to use for this purpose. Other tracks may do the same, ask around at the track.

Dont sweat it too much Sixpipes, that track up there is not very good. Those are darn good times, especially for an ext. cab. I tried to contact you about going up there, but I recieved no reply. I'll try to make it there this Friday (10th) if you are going. I would like to see your set up.

Sixpipes....sorry I couldn't make it if you in fact did go. I HAD to go to my roomates wedding. I freakin hate weddings. Anyway, I don't think it would have been a very good night. Texas Motorplex is having a test and tune today. Gates open at 11am and racing starts at 12 noon. Just FYI. I will not be able to make that either as the 5A Championship is on TV today.
Hey guys,
I've had some pretty good 60 ft times with the stock F1's. My best was 1.9 sec at Capitol, down near DC. I used the factory tire pressure and stalled the engine to just over 1500rpm. The tires hooked perfectly without any chirps.

Nope, no mods. It's bone stock, although I'm seriously considering the PSP chip and filter kit.

The firts time i ran my lightning i was to chicken to heat the tires . i went back inline just to get ridiculed by everyone who saw a black one run 13.9 3 times in a row. my first run was a 14.1 so i went to the stand for a bag of ice .i threw the old ice on the intake went up to the line burned the tires for about8 seconds at 3000rpm ,went up to the line GREEN i squashed it with only a slight chirp of the tires ran a 13.8 . i didnt have as much luck at the end of the track though . the attendant pulled me over to tell me you need a helmet when you break into 13.s. i went home a proud owner of a new lightning ! whats funny is the announcer was so unaware of what my truck was . i still had the window sticker on it and everything he had the guts to say "well folks here we have a ford f150" but my girlfriend said when he saw my time he was studdering to the audience about what he just saw. a "f150" just smoked a 95 corvette my a good amount of time.

Hey all, I represented us last year at the nmra Bowling Green event. Ran open comp class, with temps around 98, and at 100% humidity, the best time i ran was 13.9@98.89, with 2.0 60ft times, this was my first time to the track, and it was a pro-tree. So don't be afraid to heat the f-1s up they will hook! I ran 25psi in the rear, 40 in the front.
This may help you guys too. In my Cobra I heat the tires till they smoke. Then I let the car roll while lifting the throttle. The idea is to let the tires slowly hook up on the sticky rubber left by the cars on slicks. I can generaly coat my tires with there rubber this way and pull good 60' times (1.95 compared to other Cobras like mine getting 2.2x). This only works at tracks with an abundance of rubber on the ground, and some street tires pull up rubber better than others (the Cobra has BFG comp ZR's) . I think the F-1's can but haven't tried yet.
