What the cheapest Code Reader to Buy ???

As title says

Whats out there ?
What am I looking for ?
How much is one expected to pay ?

SES light came on again last night, I PRAY it points to SOMETHING new that might explain the ongoing bogging ??? Going to go hunting tonight for something to read it if they're not too expensive, ANY IDEAS ???

THANKS

I bought this one when trouble shooting my blower install on my previous car.

I think it was around 100 bucks.

OBD Reader

Rob:
I bought the OTC Stinger (pt# 3769PBY) from Pep Boys for 70.00 after rebate. It reads all the codes and then you can erase any stored codes. I keep throwing a P0420 code because I have a bum Cat. It takes about 10 seconds to clear the codes!!!

The Modis runs about $7600. It can be bought a little cheaper depending on the tool guy.

It's a nice piece, was a little too rich for me at the time of upgrading from the old MT2500 so my weapon of choice now is the Solus with European updates as well.

Well here it is (ok Mat your **** is bigger, are you happy, hehehehe)

Acutron CP9125

A real POS, and it sucks to have to spend 79.99 to read a code,
but I cant get in touch with Sal, and I need answers NOW

I wanted to buy the better one for 149.00 at least that one ALSO monitors all sensors and runs test, THIS ONE DOES NOT. All this one does is read them, and clear them. But they didnt have it, I bought this one, it's water under the bridge and here's what the Code turned out to be (they do give you great software ; o )

Hence the reason my truck boggs down,
TOO MUCH FUEL

The only thing left I did the night this started "that has NOT be eliminated" is the 60lb injectors and the tune. Sal has made adjustments and changes on the tune since then, but each adjustment or change has only moved the problem to another spot, nothing has removed the problem. YET anytime I use an old tune the problem goes away PERIOD, so is it time to take the Injectors out and add them to my ever growing collection of Mods and Money I DONT HAVE and spent on crap I no longer use ???
OR
Since it DOES NOT do it with the other tunes I have, does it clearly point to the tune itself ??? Before you ask why I dont just use those tunes, they're tunes I cant use unfortunately, they're for the Eaton, 50's and EGR, so when I do use them all kinds of codes pop up, BUT NEVER EVER A BOGG.

I rather change the tune first of course before going back to stock injectors.

I've been trying to get it back on the Dyno for weeks now, but Sal truly is swamped and simply doesnt have the time, but I also dont have the time to wait any longer so my next move may be to buy tuning software and start tuning this fking POS myself. WHATS AVAILABLE FOR THAT ????

EDIT

Not like a Predator or anything, something that gives us full control over the tune ???

Can't think of any reason the old tunes would eliminate the problem other than the tune being corrupt, or just off. I realize it is difficult to make so many changes and have it come together without a hitch, but your problems sound rediculous to me.
You don't do yourself or Sal any favors by making multiple changes together, ignoring sound practices of only changing one variable. My suggestion is to get a generic mail order tune from JDM, who seem to show more success with the MP blower. Since Sal is so swamped maybe this is a route you can take for now.
If you want to stick with Diablosport tunes perhaps JJ or RWTD can give you a new baseline tune to start with.
Not to diminish Sal's abilities, but if it is tune related and he is too busy to work out the bugs now I would try to pick a second tuner's brain as well.

Hey Jim,
Hows the waiting doing Buddy
Man your going to have one kick *** Beast SOON, WOO HOO
I bet you cant wait,

I know it seems that way, (that I did too much at once) but I really didn't.
I mean schitt we prob already had 27 Dynos on the Mag the 1st time around, so putting it back on was nothing to be concerned or worried about, amof it doesnt even detail much of a tuning change to tell you the truth. Plus it's already been pulled and triple checked.

And once I switched to the 60's it was clear that the characteristics of the spark plugs have changed. No more melted plugs, no more 1/2 the plug burns one way and 1/2 burns another way. No more diff burn OR LOOK from one cylinder to another, amof they look great everytime I check them, woo hoo.
So as much as I was ready to rip um out tonight, now that I read the Code, and know it actually does have too much fuel, enough to throw a code, I think I have to look at what tells the injectors to send too much fuel, and not
the injectors themselves. They will now stay in and I'll look elsewhere.

Of course since this bogging problem started that night and I've already eliminated the other variables, that still means the only place left to look is the tune and injector combo itself. "There is simply no where else to look". But since I can go days without the prob showing up, and the prob dont even exist with the old tunes, and the plug problems have clearly cleared up, you got to admit I can pretty much eliminate the Injectors.

The bottom line is, it's my problem and my truck, at this point I just want the fking truck running right, period end of story. Whatever it takes to do that,
I am prepared to do, AND NOW.
