Hey Rob,

I'm currently in the process of doing some custom work in my truck... and one thing I've been looking into is the SCT Pro Racer Package. It allows you to do all your own tuning, and runs on a laptop. Price is around $800. Check out www.lethalperformance.com for it.

Rob you need to go with the Preditor and James@RWTD nothing against Sal he is a great guy but you need to get that beast back on the road. The good thing about the Preditor is you have a Code reader and a Datalogger along with being able to tweek the tunes yourself my tune from James was on the lean side 12.5-12.9 talked to James he said add 6% more fuel now I run 11.6-11.9 and can drive it safely until he adjust my tune. The more updates we get from Diablo the more end user options we have from MAF,Injector,Timming,Fuel,OBD2,Shift points,Shift frimness,Idle,Rev limits ect.

WOO HOO THANKS BRO

Hey Mike

Can I use this WITHOUT a Lab Top ???
I have a few computers, but all are PC's ???
Can I set it up for ANY Maf ?
Any Size injectors ?
Change all and everything ?

I'm going to be a tuner
I'm going to be a tuner
na na na na na .......

Georgia,

Bubba tuned for me for years, Him and Ivan (USA HOOTERS).
SOB's got me me first 12's back in early 02, 4lb pulley filter and a single tune on F-1's, woo hoo (not another mod on the truck back then)

But then JP wussied out on me (Hey JP ) hehehehe
He refused to tune me once I started spraying and I only spray, I DO NOT race less n20 and will never have a desire too, so we stopped doing business a couple of years back. I think my set up is a little unique and in the long run this SCT maybe my best bet

Havent found anyone willing to help me out yet, so this may be my only option at this point. Maybe I can have it sent overnight, who knows ???

THANKS MIKE

There are many reasons to like that programmer/scan tool. Also some drawbacks.
The plusses are:
Choice of tuners including Sal, JDM,Woodbine Motorsports, Troyer and even SCT themselves.
User adjustability (not sure how much yet, still being advanced).
Code reading ability.
No more messing with the contacts on the PCM.

The drawback will be no switch on the fly option to run different programs.

SCT X-Calibrator 2 User Adjustable Flash Tool

SCT's newest and baddest flash tuner ever made!

THE SCT X-CALIBRATOR 2
The First Compact Hand Held Flash Tool to feature COMPLETE USER ADJUSTABILITY & BUILT IN DATA LOGGING!

The XCalibrator 2 is a very advanced version of our existing XCalibrator flash tool. To meet customer’s requests and to include advanced technology, we have added more features to the XCalibrator 2 than any other flash tool on the market. It is the only USB-based tool on the market, which will simplify customer use and save costs from “proprietary” cables that all other currently available flash tools on the market require for updating or reprogramming. Just as the original XCalibrator, the XCalibrator 2 can be programmed to work on any ODB-II equipped Ford vehicle from 1994-2005.

The XCalibrator 2 has both end user adjustment and high speed data logging capability. Using the keypad, you can make changes to your timing, fueling, fuel injector size, and dozens of other parameters. You can also monitor and data log all critical parameters by both connecting the XCalibrator 2 to your PC and using the SCT Live Link software, or by using the built-in LCD display.

The XCalibrator 2 also allows 2 analog inputs when data logging (such as Wideband O2s). Also, because everyone should know what those Check engine lights mean, the XCalibrator 2 allows you to read and understand these codes the minute they appear so you can get back to enjoying your favorite vehicle.

Rob,

Why don't you just wait it out and bring the truck down to JDM day and have Jim take a look at it. After 3 years of working their and seeing people like you who have these odd ball problems that just can't seem to be corrected by other shops I have watched the JDM crew conquer every single one of them. I honestly think Jim and the JDM crew can get you running where you need to be.

Ive always found it greatly helpful to have someone thats never worked on your truck look at it when there is a problem. I know sal is a great tuner, and it seems like you have tried everything. Someone new that has never worked on your truck may find something you or sal have over looked, or thought nah ive already checked that. See what im sayin?

Taking it to someone new is not saying you dont trust sal, or doubt his tunning capabilities. Its always helped me. Kinda like when you your frusrated and cant seem to get the littlest thing done. So you go in and drink a beer, come back out and what do you know, everything goes smoothly.

Ive been following your threads and wish you the best of luck. Im sure it will all work out and the beast will be up and running great like it should in no time...

As Rob would say, woooooooooooo hoooooooooo......

Rob if you do purchase a tuning package. I'd suggest a laptop/pc based tool. You can then easily use *other programs* to analize, do math, and record your data.

If the program allows it... you might be able to modify & diagnos other vehicles too.

I'm not able to tune but with my laptop and autotap. But I am forming some nice reality checks from many other vehicles. I know so much more about whats going on PCM-wise now. Wether it be our 03 merc. Mountianeer, lightnings, stang GTs, OBD2 cars in generall, ect... The autotap will let you tune LS1 and LS6 cars. an I just wish I could do modular motor fords.
