Parish went 10.0x....
Parish went 10.0x....
Was watching the rest of the drag week videos on www.1320video.com and Parish went 10.08 or 10.06 in the heat the other day. If I remember right he's only using a 75 shot to get off the line too. Then he strapped on the stock wheels and tires and towed his trailer another 1,000 miles. Also the truck with him in it weighed in at 5,000lbs.
Face it fellas, the chevy boy in a REAL TRUCK, not a drag machine is showing us all how it's done.
He finished first at drag week, but congrats to Justin Burcham from JPC/ NMRA for coming in 2nd.

HI!... You also forgot to mention that on the ride home PARISH shattered his rearend and drove it in 4X4 (front diff) to get home. Congrats out to JIM for a fantastic showing!
I've been keeping an eye on his truck for awhile now. Lost of update posts in the BLOWER/SUPERCHARGER section of this site.

Chevys never blow rear ends.
But who cares, look at how many miles and passes his truck has gone on that rear. The fastest lightning can't even drive on the street, let alone cross country.Look at how many miles he drove that week and how many passes he made too though. He's got the fords beat hands down right now, there is no argument.

Not to say that Parish's isnt a sick truck. but how do you say it is a REAL TRUCK and not a drag racing machine. he has a completly upgraded drivetrain built motor, built trans, a turbo and a roll cage. looks like a drag machine to me.

I'm not sure if you read what drag week was all about, but Parish managed to leave home here with us last sunday morning, and we made it back 6 days and 16 hours later after his truck traveling over 2300 miles on 87 octane gas (except for at the track) trailering his ENTIRE garage behind him most of the way and made it back in one (basically) peice.
And a correction... I was the one that broke the rear end, lol.. OPPS!
His set up is...
cmotorsports 408, calies crank, oliver rods, je pistons, arp everything.
AFR 225 heads
234/232 595/590 115+1 camp cam
pt88 turbo
cmotorsports turbo kit with 4" down pipe and 4" cut out
60mm hks waste gate
blitz boost controler
undersized air to water intercooler
alky contol meth set up
megasquirt for my fueling and nitrous control
95lb injectors
racetronics duel intank pump set up with stock fuel lines, rails, regulator
4 nitto 305/45/18 555r's
finishline transmission built 4l80e

stock front and rear diffs
There is a tad more power adders than just the pump gas that is boasted. I too race my truck and I also used it this weekend to move my son and his wife into their new home. I will also load it up and go fishing or vacation from Michigan to Texas.
I do have much respect for his set up and what he has accomplished!

I'd run go get a Chevy if I was you.
Parish's Chevy is Bad@ss!!
My buddy has a Gen 1 Lightning in Indy that weighs 4600 with Big Block & Turbo that Runs high 9's. This truck is Street driven to the Track & back home. It also takes Jeff Sparkman to work once in a while. I'd love to see Parish Race this Truck.
This would be a great Race!
It goes 9.95 on 13# Boost. here's a Video link.

WOW Ralph, that was a nice run
Woo Hoo @ Jeff
Parish WHO
Funny how quick we forget about out L brothers that drive cross country and punch out low 10's
Fatest Gen II daily driver is CHIKIN1 w/ a 10.2 the last i heard.
But there's others like Skin Head, that are right there too
HD's White truck has also gone 10.2's (maybe better). Now it has a 2v Alum Motor in it and although on it's voyage run they only ran it "all motor" and settled for NUMEROUS 10's, (qualified #1 with a 10.8s and ran in the 10s all day even going to the Semis), Jim drove it 7 hours home
So dont make it like this Parish dude is some kind of God cause he has a Chevy that runs low 10's, The L's have been doing it for QUITE SOME TIME,
AND DRIVING THEM CROSS COUNTRY TOO
Dont get me wrong, I think the truck has made a clear statement, and I WOO HOO him and his accomplishments
it all comes down to MONEY

Thats right. Chiken1 drove from Alabama to Cecil and ran a LOW 10 to become the "Second fastest' Gen 2 L on record. Then changes 4 wheels and is driving back to Alabama as we speak.
He gets told to put it on the trailer (because of no cage) and he says to the official, "There is NO trailer'. LOL
This is a true daily driven low 10 second L and I congratulate him and JDM for the tune.

It was 92 degrees here and by 2 o'clock in the afternoon the track got so greasy I never attempted a 3rd pass. The motor made 757 HP and 992 TQ with a 100 shot jet(which they say is a 52) on the Dyno. Yet the truck picked up 160 RWHP. NX tells me that the 52 is rated a 100 off a N/A motor and the supercharged motor added that much extra. So anyway just a bit of info here.
Kevins truck is a true daily driver and weighs in the ball park of 4750. Full interior and everything.

I didn't see any lightnings at drag week, maybe next year.
And Rob it doesn't ALL come down to money. Sure there are people who throw money at vehicles and go fast, but others like myself like to spend alot less and still find ways to reach our goals.
[QUOTE=WaveBlaster785]I haven't forgot about those guys. But I just think it's healthy to have a little competition.
Agreed on the competition, the more the merrier

400+ ci and a big turbo would put every gen II in the 9's. Mod motors just haven't been around as long as the pushrods. All in due time. I think you'll see alot of street driven 9 sec trucks with turbo's soon. Hell Frank's about to be in the 10's on a completely stock motor and tranny.
