Ode to a Lightning
Was up a little too late last night and got loopy. Found this this morning and thought I'd post it in hopes someone can finish it. I ran out of steam after halfway thru:
The Truck,
it sang a song of speed
as in the days of lore;
and the engine's throaty growl
was like a lion's angry roar.
The wailing of the blower
did make a menacing sound,
its gleeful shriek in harmony
with the howling tires on the ground.

...
As I saw the lights in my mirror
I listened for the shriek as I hit second gear!
When the truck neared 110
I saw a few more join in,
I knew they couldn't hang
after all they were all driving a stang! (not trying to dog it, but it fit good)
I flew in to the curve at 106,
and chuckled as a cop flew off the cliff!
