Ford vs. SVT?
I've noticed in past threads and also talking to some owners of 1st generation and also 2nd generation L's that there is some discussion of whether or not the blue oval should be the main logo on the truck or should the SVT logo be the main logo....seems that those that want the SVT logo have a problem with Ford and prefer not to have anything to do with them....any thoughts on this little matter...
Also finally got the truck back after a month in the body shop....god it feels great to drive something with some kahoonies....

Hey guys, Sal here. Let me just clear up a few things concerning Ford and SVT that many people do not know. First of all, SVT is an outside comapany (Campbell & Co.) hired by Ford to market SVT products. That's all they do. SVT does not design, build or have anything mechanical to do with "SVT" vehicles. SVE (Special Vehicle Engineering) are actually design enginners, that do have to do with the vehicles. But SVE is not the main force behind the new SVT vehicles. That would be Roush. Roush designed 85% of the 99 Lightning. As far as the first gen Lightnings, that's a different story. SVT had absolutely nothing to do with those. Ford Truck Design bult the Lightning from 91-92, and in 93 when the Cobra was to be introduced, SVT asked if they could market the Lightning side by side with the Cobra. And thus was born the "SVT" Lightning. There's a lot more to both of these stories, but those are the shortened versions.

Thanks for that great info Sal. I never knew Roush played any part at all.
