Magnum power dyno results within-->

Well, today was the moment of truth. the dyno conditions were less than desirable at 86 degrees and 56% humidity, baro was at 29.85 and falling. I had no time to cool off before the dyno session and just ran the truck hot.

on the 17 degree 93 octane tune I dynoed 424 HP and 505 TQ. A/F's were in the 11.8 -11.6 range when I got done tweaking the tune.

my dyno numbers last november before the magnum were 393 HP and 494 TQ and I checked the conditions of my dyno before and it was 39 degrees 77% humidity and the baro was 30.15. so with the 57 degree difference I think that I have another 20-30HP if I can get a cooled off dyno session.
my gaines over the stock eaton were 20hp from 3500-4000rpm and 40hp from 4000-5200rpm. Tq gains wer 16lb/ft from 35oo-4000rpm and 25lb/ft from 4000-5200rpm. I saw a max pressure of 16lb of boost also.

Over all I am pleased with the results I got 40HP and 16 lb/ft and that is on a hot day. the torque gain was a little lower than I expected. but over all not bad.

did I mention it was loud?
I problably did not need the 60lb injectors or the MAF.ia yet but it sure feels good to have the insurance that I will not run out of MAF voltage(max today was 4.3V) or fuel on a cooler day. now I just gotta get to the track on a cool night and flog this beast.

Did you change lower pulley size since your last dyno?

STL, yes I did up the boost from a 4 to 6lb lower. definately will post up the dyno numbers when I can get a equivent or near equivelent to my last dyno session, last november the DA on my prior dyno was equal to -1500 sea level, SWEET. today it was 1900 feet above sea level DA, NOT SO SWEET. 2900 feet in difference should put a mighty big difference in dyno numbers, but that is just it. dyno numbers are just a measure if used in the same settings. so I am not to discouraged yet. the track should be the real measure. when it ever cools down here in OKC.

So you went from 392 with a 4 lber with a Eaton to 424 with a 6 lb with a MP? Also your numbers must be std. form right? I think I would be a little pi$$ed at those minimal gains...

I hear ya on the DA's, its consistantly between 4500 to 5000 on the DA meter were I race. It makes for some real crappy ET's.

And the MP has a 2.7" upper, so a good additional 4lb of boost with the bigger lower. His results are exactly the numbers I made with the MP and 6lb lower. He'll get a little more in better weather, but not enough to justify the investment.

$800 was to much for the magnum powers? and the future gains I will get with a built block and spin it up more?

Nice results Andy, CONGRATS
The 40HP is a nice improvement, especially considering the temp and elevation diff's But doesnt using "SAE "corrected" numbers take all that into consideration though ??? Thats what I was always told ?

Either way that TQ does seem low ??? especially if your running more pulley on the comparison. What Upper are you running on the Mag, and what was it on the Eaton ? Maybe your running a larger upper on the Mag than the Eaton ? FYI running even more pulley on that Mag will add globs of TQ, I run a 8lb Lower and 2.7 upper on mine, although my truck his schitty *** HP,
()#%#%^)#%^#%@$^@$^%@$%@$ (dont get me started)
my TQ numbers always amaze us because I have over 580 SAE Ft Lbs of TQ right off idle upon stabbing it, that truly does make it one serious fun street Beast, You can be crusing along at a nice pace, stab it and just absolutely roast the tires off the rims, and straight through 3 gears, even on a 90+ degree day. Sal took @20K off my new F-1's yesterday amof having fun with it on a test drive ( I think he misses his L, and takes it out on mine )
I wish I had pic's, he was going side ways, smoke pouring out of the wells, marks everywhere, the TQ on mine is just absolutely tire ripping.

But 40HP is 40HP and thats a nice improvement, CONGRATS

You done good.

$800 was a great deal. $1700 is what they cost brand new, minus rotors. If I had it to do again, I'd have spent the extra money on a KB.

I stand corrected, for $800 vs porting a stock eaton, I would go with the MP. I assumed you paid full price. But you have to admit that the pulley changes alone would have put your stock eaton near the same numbers on the dyno. The stock eaton would puke at the track with that much heat though.

rob, do you have a old dyno chart I could look at of yours? what RPM do you start your dyno runs at? becuase I haven't received a dyno tune from James, one that I can have 3rd gear @ 1500 rpm and run it to redline, I have to run it like i do on the street and start the dyno at 70 mph.

I have been told different for SAE, I thought that was for NA engine applications only as boost conditions add "false atmospheric pressure"
