? about Metco Idler install...

All,

I installed the Metco Auxillary Idler and 2 idler pullies yesterday. I got the belt back on and started the truck. All seemed fine and then I test drove it and belt slippage seemed worse. Got back home, turned the truck off, then started it again and belt slipped violently, on start up. Do I have to adjust the tensioner to loosen the belt a little, if so, how? Also I have FTVB and I noticed that it increased belt slippage after install, but with the idler pullies, it's worse. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

DOOM

PS I did a search, no answers to this question.

What Belt ?
The original, or a new Belt ?
If it's a new belt and you got it from RPM, you can bet your last buck they sent the wrong belt, THEY DO IT EVERYTIME

Happen to me and I was loosing MASSIVE boost as a relsult.

What size lower pulley do you have and what size belt?
With a 4lb lower I think you need a 68.5" belt with the metco unit

Im ran a 68" belt with a 8.5" lower and 2.93 upper, metco idler with 90mm pulley and extra 90mm in the other stock place no belt.

try a different belt.

60% of the time it works every time!

edit: I believe that with the metco aux idler, the belt length should be 1" longer than without it. (and there is no adjustment in the tensioner)
Add 1" to whatever belt you were running before (I'm assuming you didn't change any pullies at the same time). The last 3 digits of the belt's part number equals the length in inches. Good luck.
