Question starting trouble

over the past few months i have occasionaly had trouble getting the truck to start.i would have to crank the motor for several seconds to get it to fire up.it was very unusual and only once in a great while.it has happened several times in the past few weeks when the weather has been very hot out.i changed out the fuel filter and it did not help.my next guess would be a problem with the fuel pump.anyone heard of or had this problem before? iead/opinions?

If it was a fuel system problem you'd think it would show up at other times besides start-up. How old is the battery?

Maybe worth doing the "CLEAN THE IAC MOD"
The usual sympton is rolling idles and stalling, it takes all of 5 minutes to do and it's FREE, worth giving it a try

BTW
Mine fk up when the truck was brand new, I cleaned it, and have had years of trouble free idles since

I filled it up with Alcohol, and let it soak. Then I used cue tips and got it spotless inside. I ended up with a sink full of yick and many dirty cue tips when I was done.

Put it back together and your done

What mods? I ask cause I was chasing the same issue for a while. However, I have fuel pumps, injectors, etc... Its important to check your fuel pressure at key-on to see what its at. Jody helped me figure that problem out.
