6# and new tune results!
6# and new tune results!
Well I was running a JLP "dyno" tune, 4# lower and Stieg blower. I swaped over to a 6# lower and a tune from Ryan Allan.
Last night the Temps were in the mid/low 80s and HUMIDITY was well over 85%. With the 4#, port and JL tune these conditions would barley net me a 12.8-12.9 @ 104 mph on slicks.
Last night with the 6#, port and R/A tune I was very suprised to have ran a 12.88 @ 106.95 ( 107 ) with a 1.88 60ft on radials! Now Granted I've been faster in cooler weather but considering the conditions it was pretty shocking when I saw my slip!!!!!
I'd say it gained a Solid .2 and 2mph between the new tune and 6# over the old set up.
BAD NEWS! I blew a heater hose line on the way home from the track while racing a SRT4 and had to trailor it home.. At least I was winning when it blew.

BTW, my slips said 100% humidity on them, for what it's worth. And 1.88 is great because I couldn't hook for the life of me and was killing my tires going into 2nd.
I asked around for you after you called me last night but no one really had a trailer.

With the 6lb lower on, what timing were you running? Octane?
On the street, I run 16. At the track, with 100 octane unleaded, I've run 22 degrees.

Since I put Denso's in, it seems they don't "rattle" (detonate) as much as when I was running NGK's. It could also just be the hot/humid air. I have also been running 18 degrees lately on 93, but I too expect to take it back down when cooler weather moves in, probably back down to 16.
Congrats on the improvement!
Dont be afraid, though, you can use his real name instead of an acronym (Ryan Allen), I dont think he'll be upset...
He knows his stuff, especially for such a young punk.
