Well I've been driving around with my new Mustang V6 the last couple of days, and I believe it's the only thing that could really stop me from driving like a wild animal let loose. I was bound to get into trouble driving that Lightning around everyday, I already got a few nicks and scratches that I'm gonna have to have fixed now. And you all know about my two strikes . . .

But anyways I'm pretty impressed with the power this Mustang has at freeway speeds. It's sporty enough to enjoy driving, but not such a monster that I go wild on the road passing every car in sight. I must say it's an excellent deal for anyone looking into a daily driver, only $17,900 ALMOST fully loaded, out the door. And you can't complain about 27 mpg on the highway either.

With the recent posts on "talking smack" and now with my daily driver, I believe I have truly humbled myself

I also purchased a Mustang for winter,it`an 87 I picked up from a friend for only $500.Hopefully it will last through the winter. The car has a recent rebuild new brakes,new clutch.It will then be turned into E.P.R.`s new drag car in the spring.Were planning on dropping in a stroked 351 with a little nitrous .I will more than likely be towing to the track with the L.Should be fun.. Hey Spiro, sounds cool - if this were actually mine to keep I'd probably run the V6 into the ground and turn it into a muscle machine as well But please don't get me thinking about that with this car!

UNFORTUNATELY I spoke a little too soon in my above post. I was driving to a local shop to order a truck cover for my Lightning, and what happens? Well I'm not speeding, but I get into a left turn lane to make a u-turn, but it says no u-turn, so I make a left turn instead. Right then I get pulled over along with about 5 other cars for making the turn. The whole time I'm thinking what the hell happened? I thought it was a late afternoon checkpoint. The cop then informs me that we are not allowed to make left turns from 4pm to 5pm, and it's 4:10!! Can you imagine that? After getting away with speeding twice in my Lightning, I get ticketed for not reading the small print on a sign in my brand new daily driver!! And when I really think about it, I'm not so pissed about having to pay for the ticket or go to traffic school for 8 hours, what pisses me off is that I LOST my 1 chance to erase a speeding ticket from my record when I DO speed in my Lightning!! LOL! Really all I can say about that is you can only postpone fate for so long. This is really a speeding ticket getting me behind my back.

Hey BRIMSTONE,
You know they have the same stupid u-turn law at a few intersections here in DE. This did happen to me also with the Lightning,The cop(sorry TROOPER)was about to give me a ticket.But these 2 little rice burners did the same thing right in front of the TROOPER.Seems that the Trooper was determined on catching these rice burners with the loud systems.So. he says to me dont do that I again, and of course I said "NO Sir Trooper". I know what you mean about losing the points from a past violation. I have finally knocked my points down to 3 .
What type of cover have you decided on using?

 

I've realized that many of the companies use the same material, I'm going with a Wolf cover only because they are close by and can get it done before 4 weeks. It seems everyone needs a car cover now. As far as what kind I think it's called Nova fabric, but Wolf calls it Centrex, whatever it is it's the best one that Wolf has to offer. Cost me $200.
