Isn't that really typical "SVT surveyed it's dealers".
My local dealer has 15 green Mustangs on his lot (yep the ugly green) that are a result, in part, of a similar survey about Mustang colors. He says all the other colors sell about as fast as they arrive. The greenies are likely to have birthdays on the lot.
With all due respect to Ford and SVT, there are other forums such as current owners, enthusiast magazines and so on that might result in a better selection of colors and perhaps,God forbid,even a wider selection of options or standard equipment.
I won't jump around just now to check, but I think it is Tybee that is asking who will be first to have a $40K US Lightning. I agree he should have looked at $45K and Ford should be listening. That's not all being spent on outrageous performance stuff, most of mine has been on upgrades to the basic vehicle.

Have to agree with Bill here.....the owners are the ones that Ford needs to survey for upgrades and colours. If you guys promise not to tell my Vette friends, I'll tell you that if Ford had the Dodge Viper yellow available for the Lightning, I would buy one in a NY heart beat!!...later.....

I know I had read on www.blueovalnews.com there was some speculation the color yellow might be offered on the Lightning. Now I know you can't believe everything you read so has anyone else heard anything about yellow? I would love to wait for it to be offered, otherwise I think I'd like to go ahead and order.

 

Got another 3-4K for a worthwhile paint job? My wish list is getting longer; have to prioritize it! This may be a big financial stretch, but a Chrome Yellow Lightning could satisfy BIG TIME. Maybe next year...

Hey Guys!
A big yes on the Yellow Lightning. In fact I should not have changed my Lightning color (to Red)on my order. I could repaint a white to yellow a whole lot easier than a red to yellow. Boy! That would really make it unique. Picture this a yellow lowered Lightning with chrome wheels and cross drilled rotors. Well I will just have to dream about the yellow, the rest of it is real except it is RED. Have fun, I like the mods that everyone is doing to their trucks.

Hey Erichw, Sal here. Sorry, no yellow Lightnings. Silver was added to the 2000 model year as the 4th color. Here's why- SVT surveys it's dealers each year, to get feedback from them on SVT vehciles. This year, the survey asked what color they would like to see the 2000 Lightning get, if they added a fourth color. Yellow was a close second, but the majority of the dealers asked for silver. There is a yellow Lightning that is used by SVE as a run-around truck, and yes, it's awesome looking.

Anybody remember the thread that had the fake yellow Lightning? Was about a month or 6 weeks ago. Wanted to take another look at it, was done realistically.
