PLEASE help a young guy out

Alright, I'm 19 and i just bought a 2004 Lightning with 3k miles on it. BOY am i happy with my purchase, but i dont know what is the first thing i should do. I just ordered a ported blower from Apten. Other then that im going to do a cold air kit and eventually exhaust and headers. Who should i have tune my truck in the Northwest Chicagoland Area, and what other mods should i do to have my truck running at peak performance right now?

I would give on the of the big 3 a call for your tuning needs. Also i would buy a 4lb lower and good cold air/ram air kit. Hit me up on AIM s/n BLWNTRK and ill help you figure out what you need.

4 or 6lb lower, some traction bars to keep your suspension from binding/twisting, and a good set of sticky tires, you should see 12s.. catback systems do very little for perf. but give you a nice sound, most go with bassani, i have a magnaflow on mine, and it sounds great...

3/4 of the people I know who went to college work at golf courses now. The most successful people I know barely graduated highschool. Just a thought, college isn't for everyone.

theres not really anyone in chicago to tune, it sucks living here. theres two shops that are big, and only one does diablo but they are a LS1 shop all the way so i dont trust them to make toast. the other shop is sct but is trying to work out something with sct so they can start doing diablo stuff... but they charge outrageous for work and dont know how to tune a vehicle with cams. i just went through RWTD and am waiting for my first mail order tune to see how that goes.

I'm surprised no one's said FTVB yet, firm up those shifts, save the tranny. Also, a great mod that is very cheap and very easy is dropping the back with shackles 2 inches.

And about selling his truck and going to college. He's got the money to buy a lightning and mods, so he's probably got the money to go to college. He also DID buy a lightning, so he probably is smart enough to go.

Sal from PSP does come to the midwest for tuning weekends - we had one in St Louis in April and Kansas City in June. You might want to consider him since we'll probably have another one in St Louis next spring. Get a mail order tune from him now and a dyno tune next year.
