How about some Lightning / Cobra racing / grudge matches? I'll be there and I know of at least 20 other 03/ 04 Cobra's that will be there.

I'm looking for Waveblaster 785. It appears from your posts that you will be at Ford Fever. I'd like to officially call you out. Run what you brung man.


I'm not sure what your truck looks like, but I'll be in a Torch Red 10th anniversary 03 Cobra. If you see a bunch of Cobra's pitted in the same area, just ask them if they have seen me, and I'll do the same if I see a bunch of Lightnings. My name is J.R.

I'm in a club called MACA, Mid Atlantic Cobra Association. We are going to have a get together there on Saturday at the track, be sure to stop by. It's a group of real good people that love to race. We are looking into a possible Lightning / Cobra shootout at a local track sometime next year. It would be a lot of fun, who cares who wins or loses, it's just fun racing and hanging out.

Are you talking about this saturday or the saturday of ford fever? I would def be into a cobra/lightning shootout. Only problem is i don't have a cage and I have 100 more hp than i did when I ran my 11.49, so I kinda have to keep it to track rentals for awhile.

 

We have not finalized a shootout. It may be next season before it comes together, however, if enough Lightnings come to Ford fever on Oct.15th, we could set up an informal shootout. MIR Ford events are favorable, when it comes to cages, know what I mean??? I have not been booted yet, but I guess you have to run faster than 11.49 first...

I was there last year. I won the lightning class, my buddy took the Mod class, and another friend shoulda taken FS but fell asleep at the light. I got lucky though, 2bscrewed was reelin me in HARD.

 

Ya, I definately learned not to be a **** and change lanes for the final. Oh ya and 1/8 mile racing is gay!

no more popping sensor issues.

I will be testing in 2 weeks to make sure I can put up some 10s with
the unported Eaton. tune straight, but new clutch going in.

I went 2 years ago, had problems with my 94 Cobra, and unhooked my
01 Lightning, and had the fastest truck by like 6 tenths.
fastest guy was 13.1, and I ran 12.52 on my Nittos with truck not 100%.

....my luck.....
on race day, practice run, truck shifted 2nd, and boom, drive shaft broke.

went from potential hero to ....zero in less than 13 seconds.haha.

It's probably a single power adder class. If you are going 10s on just the unported eaton and no spray, I'm impressed.

 

The lightning class is single power adder, street legal radials. Good thing M/T's are street legal radials.
But I think he was referring to his Mustang since he said something about a clutch.

 

I'll be there, unfortunately as a spectator only, but maybe I'll see you guys there.

Mod class last year was single power adder as well, so what I was saying was IF he's spraying to go 10s then he's in trouble because a couple of the cobras are well in the 10s single power adder.

And if he is running any of the faster classes he'll need to bring more than a 10 to the table.
