Great weekend.....
The L was 10-1 this weekend, pretty good night.
last weekend I took the truck to a cruise-in (local). The event was followed by a cruise over to the drag strip for the street car challenge. Great night for the L, it was low humidity (very dry) and about 68-70 degrees. As soon as the call went out for folks to line up I jumped in up front. A WS-6 TA with DR's and a Lap top plugged in pulled in beside me. He also had exhaust and a 50 shot. He purged it after he staged. The tree was pro style. I came out at 1500 and the truck hooked good with a 1.86 sec 60'. I already had him, his nose was at my door. We went through the gears as he slowly fell back to the rear tires and then the bumper. I hit the light at 8.14 as he cleared it at 8.26. The next time I pulled to staging a late 90's Cobra pulled in next to me and again as we staged at the light he purged the nitrous, he had exhaust and DR's as well, guages on the dash ect.. I drilled him out of the hole with a 1.89 60' and pulled a little in 2nd gear as his nose was at my door when we crossed the line. I went 8.15 to his 8.21. The third time was a Mach 1 mustang with 26" slicks and a 100 shot (I knew him). He asked for the race and it was on. I lost the hole shot by a half car and had to hunt him down, it took the hole track and I nosed out the win by about 3-6 feet. I went 8.19 to his 8.24. Now bare with me..... The rest of the night I beat a 03 Z06 vette 2 different times (same car), an S-10 pickup with an LT-1 and slicks and a couple of early 90's mustangs. The last race i lost to someone I had already beaten once. I was called out by a 97 ws-6 TA, the works on this car, exhaust was loud and lost of motor work...whoo, it hit a lick and the best I could figure it was a 7.80-8.0 car. I gave him the bad lane and drilled on the sixty foot and he couldnt catch me, I got him by a half car. He wanted to go again and after a brief cool down we went again. He stayed beside me through the sixty foot and my truck hit the rev limiter going into second gear then he pulled on me about a car as we went throught the lights with my nose at his rear bumper.
It was a good night as I went 10-1 in all heads up racing. There were faster cars there, mustangs, several Buicks and a truck similar to Parish's. It had a stroker with All wheel drive and the N20 and went low 7's all night. But, for the L it was a good night...
