Arrow **Pic Of Our New Air Filter Box **

This is our new in-house designed prototype air filter box. We like the design and quality but need your opinions also.

It's made from 20 guage steel and is solid as a rock. It also has an un-polished 6061 T6 Aluminum top. As you can see, the box is powder coated semi-gloss black which I am not a big fan of. We found a medium dark grey texture color that has a lot of metallic in it that we think we'll use to coat the entire box, top included, and it'll look great.

The final version will have four spring loaded knurled thumb screws pressed into the box top at the corners and four threaded nuts pressed into the top flange of the box for easy removal.

The complete air filter kit will have a foam filter end to suck air from outside the truck at the fender.

For now, the box doesn't have a pipe in the bottom for ram-air but that's what we're working on now. Our objective is to have a four inch air inlet feeding the box. Why funnel three inches of air into a four inch MAF?

It will be available in the medium dark grey texture finish with the option of a polished billet aluminum top or the standard powdercoated top. We also have plans for a solid top that will increase air pressure inside the box. What are your thoughts?

And before someone asks "what's it going to cost"?, we don't know just yet but it'll be as inexpensive as we can possibly make it. The box will fit all popular 12 to 14 inch filters, or shorter for that matter.

Your input will help greatly, please comment. It also needs a name, if you can help with that.

Looks AWESOME!

You are making things very difficult for me to resist!!!!
Damn you.

The solid grey would look very nice. I would like the closed top on it, personally but either way would work for me as the cuts in the top of the lid look great!

As far as a name?

The Chikenear's Cyclone
The Chikenear's Twister
?
I kind of like this one....
The Chikenear's Surge

WOW, all positive responses so far! I'm feeling better and better. This is a tough crowd and posting pics of a new product is an anxious time. Thanks guys, keep the names coming, Chiken Air has a ring to it (sometimes less is more) but so do the others.

Thanks guys,

Tim

Give it time Tim, the a$$holes will come I'm sure

First look had me immediately thinking of Predator, or Terminator
It just has that Industrial Industructible look.
I Love it, awesome job, Chicken Man (3 thumbs up)

That's The One !!!!

I have been waiting for four years for the right air box setup. I have always wanted the intake air to be brought in from the outside only with a sealed box. It is the only thing thatr makes sense to me.

Make it any color. If I want another color, I will powdercoat it myself.

Tim, You are the man, put me on the list for a must have.

Name suggestions;

Supersonic Chicken Air

Chicken Warp Air

Am I missing something here? It doesn't appear that the airbox is sealed.
