Warrenty!!!
Warrenty!!!
got myself a brand new torneau cover under ford warranty. I cracked one of the corner connectors. took it to ford to buy the part and the guy said I can replace the part under warranty. Well I decided to go all out and complain about how much the torneau sucked (it will not close is all sections) and it keeps opening up on the highway, etc..... I am friends with the service writer and he made it happen. Well that is about as far as I would let Ford work on my truck but I have had some good luck with Ford warranty work over the last few years.
Said thing is I roll in 7:15am Saturday morning so I am first in and do not waste my labor day weekend at Ford. Sitting there for about an hour, getting bored I start walking around the service parking lot checking out a bunch for ff250's and f350's, walk around the corner and there is my L. My friend in the bed freakin putting together the torneau cover. The tech gave up on it and could not figure it out, so the service writer was doing it
So i walked over and helped him and we banged it out in like 10 minutes. finished up and realized that he forgot to put the 4 rubber pads in each corner. Told him forget it I would do it later. I did it the next morning, 20 minutes I had the entire cover and brackets off, padded and reassembled. And to think I was letting a Ford certified tech work on my car.

The factory Ford tonneau cover is one of THE best
designed pieces I have evar seen. I have had mine
replaced twice due to minor issues with the back corners
not laying flat, and the third one had a bigger plastic lip
on the cover that works great ... It has nevar come off
even at 150+ mph ...
