Finally have a chance to get to the race track this weekend, big show at Englishtown. Bringing the mustang to the track and also going to make some time shots with the Lightning. Ahhhh......looking foward to this cool air this weekend, my best time to date was made at Cecil County. But I`m sure that E-Town will be alot better.....

Hey Spiro 99 SVT
When were you at Cecil County? I live approx 20 minutes from there in Bel Air and go up there on Friday nights for the Friday night street races. I will probably be going there again on Nov 19th, that is the last Friday night street race of the season. I was there on Nov. 5 and alot of the camero ss guys were talking sh** about the lightning until I ran 13.6 (Stock before my superchip) and they were running about the same. On my second run I didn't ease into the gas and laid rubber more than half way down the track (there goes about 700 miles worth of tire tread) and my truck was going side ways. I had a swarm of people come up and look under the hood because they could not believe this was stock. I even had to open the bed so they could see that there was not a nitrous bottle. They said that they had never seen anything like that before from a stock vehicle. The guy I raced had a 68 camero with ALOT of mods and he ran 13.4. He came up to me afterwards and said that he has ALOT of respect for this truck coming out here and lossing by less than a car length, STOCK. He said that he could not wait to see it with a few mods. Any way it would be good to see some other lightnings up there. Plus I would like to here your flowmasters. I purchased 1 from summit racing, but the dual inlets and outlets were only 2 1/4 inches and our pipes are 2 1/2. The muffler shop I took it to said that they could not put it on. And about the GN's, there were 2 there that night 1 reg and 1 GNX. They both were running high 13's and low 14's. The best the GNX did was 14.3. Best of Luck!!!

Question

is this the same mustang-vs-grand national where the mustangs have whooped-a** on the nationals the past few years?

Stock Grand Nationals DO NOT run 11 and 12 sec. times stock. I have had two of them and I was a member of the Buick club here in town. GN's run high 13's to mid 14's STOCK. However, they are very easy to modify and the first thing most GN owners do is up the boost with chips, wastegates, and intake tract modifications.
Hope this helps--- Mad
