Maintenance/Install Questions

I have a couple of questions regarding maintenance/repair costs and ease of install for a few mods.

1.) How easy is it to install a catback? I was thinkin a Bassani. From what I hear its just a simple bolt on that anyone can do.

2.) How easy is it to install and intake? I was thinkin K&N FIPK-II.

3.) I've been told that my rotors are rusted and need to be replaced. I was lookin at these ...

What kinda $$ am I looking at for the installation, and will these suckers work with my existing OEM pads etc???

4.) How much $$ am I lookin at for parts and installation of a new starter? And what are my aftermarket options? Someone told me to go with MSD Ignition systems stuff. Any opinions/comments?

I have a 2001 Lightning that is bone stock except for the stereo.

If your rotors are rusted its because you havent used the brakes enough..

I have NEVER heard of replacing rotors cause they are rusted. Cracked, thin, warped yes .. But not rusted.. If your truck sits long enough the rotors will tend to rust - assuming your brakes are in decent shape just go out on a arking lot and do a couple hard stops and the rotors will look like new

Rusty Rotors

I bought the truck from a guy who lived in Boston so the truck was in icy/salty conditions for the first 3 years of its life. The rusty rotor replacement suggestion came from the Ford dealer who subsequently screwed up my transmission while performing the 30k service so I dont really trust his recommendation in the first place.
