Question Burnin' Rubber

I've noticed the smell of rubber burning the last few days when I step into the blower. I'm guessin that the blower belt is either slipping on the pulley or the tensioner has a bad bearing and is sliding on the backside of the belt. Has anyone else noticed this?

I dont know about burning, but I do smell the belts when I lay into the gas. I always have since I bought the vehicle. It smells more like warm rubber and grease though, than the more acrid smell of something actually burning. Should I be worried?

Talking

For what it's worth, I think it was my post someone referred to many months ago.
After 5k miles, I no longer get the smell.
It was extremely annoying when I had it, and my dealer was of no help at all.

Has anyone asked SVT about this? I have sort of assumed that the belts just had to "bed" in and once that was done the problem goes away. Anyone have this experience with the SC Bird? Essentially a similar setup.

Keep in ming too that there have been documented probelms with the idler pullies and the tensioners....

If the tensioner or pulley is going ot could cause what you describe
