Awesome timing on the 13.61 with the mods. Curious about where you're racing (altitude, temperature, etc.). I'm getting 13.69 without any mods in Canada (Oakville, ON). Was thinking about getting the chip but want to hear more success stories.

I live near Routes 59 and 64 (North Ave.)next to St. Andrews. For sure lets do Route 66 in the spring. Maybe by then I will have bought some slicks and wheels. So far, I've only only run at the track with a SuperChip. My best time was with the spare tire, hitch and hard cover removed. As far as other mods done to date, I have a Valentine-1 detector in the window, a bright red Rhino lining in the bed, a Glasstite "Rally" hard tonneau on top, and I just added a Vortech 80MM mass airflow meter with a K&N cone filter(which I didn't get a chance to try at the track this year)under the hood. I also have clear foglight covers coming from Wyldman, and two pair of Pioneer 6815 three way speakers with several sheeets of Premium Dynomat coming from Audio-Etcetera. I hope to pop for a different exhaust system and tires for the track by spring, so I can catch up to Jeff. I gonna have to get a second job to support my new habit! I guess there's worse things to spend your money on, but my co-workers and my family think I'm nuts. If they only new about some of the really crazy people on this board, they would think I was sane.

It sure looks like you got some big plans for your toy. I'm dying to get some aftermarket on mine, but I can't void my warrany. I am looking forward to going up to rt. 66 with you. Finally, someone to talk lightnings with. I might have seen you around unless it was some other red lightning with a hard cover. It would be good to get your email address for further knowlege. Thanks Bob

Hey! I resemble that crack about crazy people!

I have been informed by Ford SVT that they won't hassle about changing the air filter, but they were pretty adamant about chips being a problem. They are however, possibly going to reconsider this postion, as I have it on good authority that they are currently "testing a leading after market supplier's programs", I wonder whose product that may be? Mike Troyer, any thoughts?

For the time being, if the truck goes to the dealer, I pull the chip and so far so good.

Once installed, it takes about 30 seconds to remove. I do have to say that life w/o the chip is pretty boring and the soft shifts of the stock program just make me crazy (crazier?).

For Ltng Rod,

I too have a Superchip. It's the only mod I've made to my truck. I race in Dallas, TX and have only had my truck to the track one time. 80+^F, 29.50" baro pressure (yuck), 50% hum. and a 15mph headwind.

Stock programming ... 13.93 @ 97.5mph

Superchip programming... 13.65 @ 99.8mph

Obviously, the headwind killed the trapspeed. I saw this the entire weekend with other cars I raced as well as friends' cars. I fully expect to see trap speeds at 101+ with no wind, and who knows what will happen with some "good air", too? :-)
