Thanks JDM and Magnum Powers!! (New Best!)

As many of you know, I have been trying to work out the bugs of my latest set up, which includes an MP blower, with only a 4lb lower, a torque convertor that I'm still learning to launch with, and a bunch of other goodies on my stock block. On the dyno I made an impressive 460hp on a VERY mild tune. But at the track I couldn't get things right. Soooo, then comes FFW. Even with a million things of his own to worry about, Jim and Shawn took the time to read my plugs, and check my tune and give me advice. With just a few small changes, Jim sends me to the staging lanes, and assures everything will be ok. (My previous best was 12.71) First pass I rip off a 12.38 @ 109mph!!!!!!! WooooHoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now mind you, it was miserable weather, I had wayyyyy too much gas in my truck, and some huge 14.5 inch dumbo slicks that sapped at least 2mph from me. I was fri ggin pumped! Next pass, my 60' dropped some more, my 1/8mile went from 7.9 to 7.8 and I was easily on my way to a 12.2 run when I backed out so as not to spoil my FFW dial in. That netted me a 12.6 @ 90 mph, (hehe, still my second fastest run!) Sunday I backed it up with a 12.42 in 92 degree heat, and a hot engine. Sorry for the long post, but with all the borderline bad press the MP has recieved lately, I just wanted people to know, that my JDM tuned MP boosted truck is haulin' azz!!!!! Thank for a great weekend!

Whip,

Glad to hear that your so happy with the combination. Congrats on the new times again. Like my Dad said theres plenty of room in the tune he set up for you. You going to make it to JDM day. The weather will be 1000 times better and we can turn it up on some good fuel for you. 11 sec club maybe?

Call me man,

PS thanks again for the birthday beer

When is JDM day this year? I hope to make it up. I would like to get the fuel pumps in it and get it on the dyno again before I turn it up too much. And ohh yaaaa, I want to see 11's! If I can run 12.2, 12.3 on a street tune, and 11.80's on a race tune, thats bad enough for me (for now!).

Nice

congrats on the run buddy!!! I have a video of you running John but i have no bandwith to host it but i can send it to you if you want.

That thing screems. You can hear it loud and clear even with your headers/silverbullet setup.

You still interested in selling that 6 lb ring. I'm thinking I might make the jump?

Not to burst your bubble but...

I went 12.29 backed with a 12.301 on a 6lb lower, eaton, mid-pipes, air kit, and e-fan on a predator email tune. Slicks of course. At Epping. This was with 400rwhp. With 460rwhp.....u should see some 11's. Ooo and this was at FFW Epping last year, 90+ degrees out.

Ill just say it again, the tune was very conservative, we pulled 3 degrees of timing from the chip before he ran it, from an already mild setup. If Whip gets pumps like he says he'll be going 12.0- 11.9 on his street tune. Each truck is different to compare, so Im sure his bubble is not bursted. You can also have two 90 degree days, with different humidity one day your truck could run faster as much as 2 tenths if the humidity is as bad. This weekend the air was so thick it was like pea soup.

Good for you! I have seen a lot of people go faster, and I have seen a lot of trucks blow up. You also have 3.73 gears. I have also seen a lot of predetor trucks blow up and you couldn't pay me to run a predator tune, especially a mail order one. My truck is my daily driver, it has been from Toronto Canada to Key West Florida. I work in the Carolina's, Virginia, Maryland, and Jersey, and it has never skipped a beat. It has hauled 20' boats, 55 gallon drums of oil, and 250hp outboard motors, as well as gone camping, and kayaking. And Ooooo, it was about 94 percent humidity when I ran that 12.3, and it was 92 degrees sunday when I ran my 12.42. Did I mention my truck was at full weight and stock suspension?
Good luck with your 6lb lower and your predator tune!

Thanks! Hmmm, Pretty much most of your average bolt ons, plus 50lb injectors, a torque convertor, long tube headers, The Magnum Powers blower being spun by a 4lb pulley and stock mp upper. As JIII said, it has a bunch left in it, but we ran out of fuel pump last time we dyno'd, and I like to keep things VERY conservative. I hope to get some pumps in, put the 6lb ring on, then set up a street tune and a race tune, and really let this thing air out a bit!

once again hate to burst your bubble.......

my truck is a daily driver. Full weight minus a hitch. Lowering springs. 17 degrees max timing. It is not uncommon to see 25+ sheets of CDX in it. But i guess it dosnt compare to going camping! You obviously were not at FFW last year or you wouldnt have made that humidity comment. All i'm trying to say is the MP is doing jack for you. But dont tell JDM or any of the other vendors that sell them Good luck with a JDM toon
