Question Paging Sal .............

I asked this question in a lower thread, but wanted to make sure you saw it.

Do you have any performance data on your chip? Have you run it on the dyno or down the 1/4 mile? The chip I'm asking about would be for an all stock Lightning.

Cool

Hey Typhoon, Sal here. I do have some data on my chip (and filter kit as well). On the chassis dyno, the chip in performance mode increase the output of the truck from 318hp and 383ft-lbs, to 345hp and 410ft-lbs. Testing at the track has been just as promising. I have seen a minimum of 3/10 off the trucks baseline ET for day, up to 6/10 off baselin ET depending on the weather. On cooler days with higher barometric pressure, the chip made more of difference for obvious reasons. On poor racing days, (85 degrees, 80% hum, 29.XX baro) is when I saw the 3/10 increase, which is still impressive for such poor weather. Also, on the dyno, the filter kit showed an increase of 9hp and 5 ft-lbs at the wheels, and that was with a K&N filter with the covered end, not one of the PowerStack filters I use in the kit with the open end. From what I saw in another thread here, the increase from the filter kit alone equals the increase of Pro-Ms meter/filter kit. There is really no need for a meter change on the 99 anyway, because testing the stock MAF showed it flows more than enough air to supply the blown motor.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info, assuming that my buyer comes through this weekend, I'll be picking up my Lightning the same day. The check for at least one, if not both, of your products will be on the way no more than two days later.

Is there ever such a thing as too much horsepower? Nah!
