Post Super Chip toggle location.

I would be interested in hearing where folks are locating their toggle switches for the Super Chip.

I located mine in the cigarette lighter compartment. I extended the toggle switch wire length to allow enough room to run it behind the glove box and into the top right hand corner of the cigarette lighter compartment. There is enough room to drill a 1/4 inch hole and pull the toggle through. The switch does not interefere with the normal door operation. This allows me to flip the compartment door down and access the switch while keeping it completely out of sight when not needed.

Exclamation

I thought about doing that, but wound up drilling the back of the glove box and installing it there. My phone adapter wouldn't fit properly if I mounted it in the lighter box. No one even notices it, even if they open the box. It also protects the switch from errant knees, elbows, the odd occasional klutz (me), etc.

I mounted the N2O arming switch in the finger pull of the fuse box with enough service loop to get in there and work if I have to. It's in the perfect position for me to see at a glance, but out of the way and very unobtrusive when turned off. (It glows blue when turned on and is on a keyswitched circuit.)

I still haven't had the opportunity to test the system, it's been raining here and the streets don't want to dry off long enough for me to go out and play.

Cool

To the right of an open glovebox is a plastic panel, mounted mine on the high side of it because I found there's enough room between it and the glovebox to fit the owners manual package. Frees up the glovebox for a lot more space without that in there. Never switch out of "chipped" mode anyway.

I mounted my switch just under the dash, at the right end where it ends at the kick panel. There is an existing metal tab with a hole in it the perfect size. Didn't need to extend the wire (I tucked the extra behind the kick panel). I was concerned that a passenger might hit it with their foot/leg, so I bent the tab back and up some. Works good except that it is quite a reach to switch, but I haven't done that often.

Put mine in the same place as DHFerguson. I also have not had any problems with it being kicked.

I used the metal tab under the left side of the glove box. The switch can be reached from the drivers seat, the hole was the perfect size and no drilling was required. The switch is protected from passengers by the plastic guard underneath(which I removed to install the switch (3 screws)), and is virtually invisible unless you know its there. I wrapped the wire around the antenna wire a few times to keep it under the dash.

Leave it to you Lightning owners! What a great thread, I enjoyed reading about all the various considerations, craftsmanship, etc., that has gone into where you guys are putting your switches. Thanks for sharing with everyone!
