Raced a C5 on the HWY..Does this sound about right?

On the way to work this morning a nice black C5 comes up behind me in the fast lane..I haven't been in a nice race in a while.. Well i'm in the 2nd lane from the fast lane and he veres over next to me and slows down next to my truck..I figure he knows what he's up against and we cruise along at about 65mph. I speed up a little and looking out the corner of my eye I see him gun it and i timed things as well.. We both nailed at about 70 mph and I set next to him until 120mph and he started pulling away.. I couldn't tell if it had an exhaust or manual/automatic.. I shut it down when i saw him creep away plus i was coming up on a semi.. Does this seem right for my mods or does that suck for a L?

I haven't a clue but thought it was a cool race being i was door to door at a vettes strong zone..HWY...

Thanks...what ya think ?

It's called aerodynamics. Something your truck doesn't have.

...and weight savings. Easier to move a 3000# object than a 5000# brick.

Sounds right to me, as far as how ya did.

Depends what's done to the vette... My neighbor has a vette... when I first moved here it sounded like a stock vette and looked like he just put nice wheels on it. Now it has a full cage in it and he wants to head to the track w/ me one day for a 10sec pass.... he won't tell me what's done to it though.
But whatever, all this time he thought my truck was in the 11s.

so what the hell happens when we hit 120mph. its like theres a wall. my truck jumps to 120 pretty fast, but the remaining 20 mph take FOREVER.

Thanks..I always knew that our trucks really never faired too well with some top line cars on Top end b/c of aerodynamics/weight.. When my truck was stock and my buddy had bolt ons to his 01 GT he would slowly reel me in at about 130. I knew the vette would've walked the dog on me but didn't expect to sit next to him as long as I did.. I've raced stock C5's from a 20/30 roll and a dig and always came out on top..Never ran one up top.. I have minor mods to my truck which has 117K miles so I guess it's still making decent power..Need to do some upgrades to the tuning SCT maybe

i got a good kill for ya, comin back into town from work today i was stopped next to a Durango R/T. i had my window down and he looks over revs his enigne a bit, and does this c@cky little chuckle. it sounded kinda mean. im thinkin to myself either he has some insane mods on that thing, or he's got a nice catback and is too stupid to know what a lightning will do. anyways the light turned and i beat him like a wet baby seal. i guess it turned out to be the latter.

The guy must have been clueless as those R/T's are mid to high 15 second trucks and never stood a chance against you even if you were in stock form.

The DURANGO R/T? The R/T pick-up guys mod their trucks alot but the SUV is much heavier and slower. The trucks in your area must have a lot of mods because stock the Durango is rated for mid to high 15's.
