Talking Souds Good Outside, "How about Inside?"

My 99.5 lightning labeled with FRDPLAY on the Michigan plate has a nice rumble from the dually pipes out the side, but you should hear the rumble inside!!! One thing I would like to express my displeasures about is our stock sound sytem. A 6 disk changer is nice, but those speakers had to go.
Check This Out:
* Pioneer 8000 Head Unit
* Cerwin Vega 3 way 5x8's in the front/rear
* 2 8in. competition SAS Bazooka Tubes firing in each corner behind the seats (without giving any seat space!!!!)
* 2 Rockford Fosgate 4 channel Punch amps, one running the front/rears the other bridged to the subs.
* Dynamat sound insulation throughout
* Rockford Fosgate dual amp wiring kit. (Comes complete with everything, wiring, distribution blocks, gold plated battery connectors, in-line fuse kits, Very Nice!!)

No Electronic Crossover!! The Pioneer Head unit controlls everything. High and Low level inputs with adjustible Frequencies.

These trucks ROCK!! I just added another twist, "A 140 MPH CONCERT!!!"

Any questions, give me a shout!

Jesus,

Welcome to the ranks! You will enjoy driving your new truck, but you won't enjoy paying for 92 octane fuel in the Philippines.

In answer to your question, I took the package tray out of the storage bin behind the driver's seat, laid it on top of the bin on the passenger side and situated an internally amplified 6" Bazooka tube on top of it. I can move it when necessary, and it keep the tube from sliding around. It sounds great! I also replaced the factory 5 x 8 speakers with Kenwood coaxial 5 x 8's and foam isolators. This setup ROCKS!

WYLDMAN

Thanks for the help. I was going to put a alpine cta7550 head unit and soundstrem comp 6" and tweeters in front, and in the rear i was going to put a 6" coax in the rear, then i was going to put a 12 disc cd changer in the rear pocket of the seat. Now my problem if there is a place to put the rear speaker and where as this items are here just waiting for the lightning

There are many different types and ways to install a system in these trucks. Regular subs would work but the only problem I see is limited space behind the seats for any "Sub Box" The best sound you will get, without giving up seat space is with the 8 in. SAS Bazooka tubes. Spend the extra money and request the competition series. If you are planning on keeping the flimsy plastic tool box in the truck, you'll have a problem with the 8in. Tubes. Take the box out, run 2 of them into each corner, add a nice amplifier and "CRANK IT UP"

I had a custom box built and it fits two ten-inch subs with the amp mounted in a recess in the box in between. (had to pull the plastic tray out from behind the seats.) The cd-changer is relocated to under the middle seat. I think that's a better location than stock anyway since I can change discs without groping behind the seat. Looks super-clean and sounds great. I'll try to get some photos. I left the stock speakers in the rear for fill and they run off the deck. The amp powers the subs and two Diamond Audio discrete elements in the doors. (the crossovers are mounted under the seats)

Nathan,

I'd be very interested in knowing more about your setup. I have two Precision Power Amps and 2 10" Prec. Power Subs, and was told by an installer I should step down to 8"s instead. I also don't want to mess with the truck's battery, and would rather add an additional battery just for the sound system. Any ideas? suggestions? If you have pics please e-mail them to me at T1D2C3@aol.com.

Thanks,
Mike

Anyone out there looking for a almost brand new 8" RS Bazooka, may have 2-3 hrs of playing time.
I also have the amp that I ran on it,Alpine MRV-T300 100 watts ,bridged 4 ohms.
It was purchased in 97, the Bazooka still have warrenty on it till 7/00, purchased last July.
Asking $150.00 for both or $85.00 for the tube and $75.00 for the amp.
I tried to put this in the classified page 6 weeks ago and never took, so I'll try on this topic...........Thanks
