$$BedRug$$ Where? How Much?
I'd like to get some protection for my 99 Lightning's bed. At this point I think I'm leaning toward the BedRug. Found it on the internet site for $379 free shipping and free polo shirt. (Just give me $20-$40 off and keep the shirt) Please advise on experiences, distributors, and costs? A local accessory shop doesn't sell the BedRug any longer and is marketing a line called SteelHorse.?. There's a dealership here in the Atlanta area that can get me a stock (Ford) bedliner for $159.99. If I go this route, I think that I would like a paintsaver.?. The first thing I wanted was a bedmat. Cost around $59 in Texas, but now I live in GA and everything is more expensive $79.95, cheapest I've found it and dealership wants $133.33 to order one from Ford. I've had a Rhino lining in a 91 Ranger.

Ditto Mumbly's response! I've had mine since July 3 (the day I picked up my truck) and have received nothing but compliments from many "truck people". The BedRug was one of my better decisions. Look at their website and e-mail them. They'll send you a brochure and a sample of their material. It's a marine grade carpet with a thick closed cell backing. It's great!

99 Lightning,
I really like my Bed Rug but I don't use my truck as a Truck! I carry fishing equipment in the back and the carpet keeps it from getting beat up. If I did not have the Euro Lid or some cover for the bed I would probably choose some other product because I would not want wet carpet in the back of the Truck all the time. With the lid, every thing stays dry and it is great for storing luggage on long trips. I picked up my Bed Rug for $279.00 plus tax. Good luck on your choice!

I just got the newest J. C. Whitney catalog in the mail last night. As I was browsing through it, I saw the Iron Horse carpet liner for $199. The picture included was not of the best quality, but the rug looked just like my BedRug and installs the same way.

Not 100% certain, but didn't like the way it sounded this a.m. Sounded suspitously like what Sal was describing. I think if I have the slap prob, it may still be in the early stages. I am going to stay on top of it and if it gets worse, I'm asking for a new motor.

99 Lightning,
I believe that $279 for a Bed Rug is about the dealer cost. I bought almost all my Truck mods from this shop and at the end they threw in the Rug for that price plus tax.

Hey all,
I ordered the "bed rug" from the JC Whitney catalog...it was $199, and this particular catalog I got was having a 15% off sale. It wound up costing about $185 with shipping. I figured for that price I couldn't go wrong.
I installed it last weekend. It is made by a company called "Steel Horse"..(they have been in business for many years making floor consoles for trucks and vans). It is custom tailored for the truck. It is marine grade carpet with a thick padding for the bed of the truck. The side panels are contoured to the exact shapes of the walls. It installed pretty easily and looks great.
I feel it was money well spent

The BEDRUG is great. There was a post in an earlier thread that directed me to Marfred auto parts in BridgeVille Pennsylvania. I called them up and ordered a Bed-rug for $319. They shipped it for free and since I live in CA., I didn't have to pay any sales tax. Best I could do anywhere else was $379 + Tax. Took about 5 days via UPS ground. Easy install, but takes about 1-1.5 hours if you want to get it perfect.
Their number is 412-221-4800.

I have a few questions regarding the bedrug?
The Bed Rug that I know of is www.bedrug.com
I have read many posts regarding rugs for the bed of our Lightnings, but have become confused by who is speaking of which type. When I opened this thread I was under the impression of www.bedrug.com being the bed rug in question. Is this the rug that most people here are concerned with? I myself am interested in getting more information, and a decent price on the www.bedrug.com
Wheels, is the price of $319 for the BedRug I speak of?
Thanks,
Metallic Blue
